I've used camouflage netting on a lot of models lately, ranging from Warhammer 40K Space Marine snipers, to British tanks and armoured vehicles for Bolt Action. Quite a few folks have asked me how I've done it, so here's a short video showing how I did it.
Basic ingredients - bandage, GW Athonian Camoshade wash, GW Agrax Earthshade wash, PVA glue...and that's it!
Watch, enjoy, and pop any questions or comments below. Check out more of my recent videos to see other examples as well.

Been doing something like that for years. Use cheesecloth for my netting and thinned down tan paint for the base coat. The a second layer of thinned green paint or artist ink for the camo. Then your glue trick to form it. When hanging it off a vehicle as a bundle will use thread to tie it up in a few places to look like it was roped to the vehicle. Outstanding how to.

A nice, simple but effective technique. Many thanks for sharing. I think the bandage is a 'Crepe' bandage if my ages old First Aid memory still works

No...crepe bandage is the stretchier stuff. But regardless...this stuff is quite cheap in the chemist! Thanks for watching

Would you recommend Matt Varnishing before or after applying netting?
@BitesizeWargaming

Depends on the varnish…but as a rule, yes…as pva, whilst drying clear, can have a satin finish. A good matte finish varnish will do the trick once all else has dried

What colors did you use for the armor? I have a Daimler and a stuart as well. Any advice on tree foliage?

I used a base spray of Zandri Dust from GW…then I THINK it was Vallejo Gunship Green (or something similar) followed by an Agrax Earthshade wash. As for tree foliage, there’s a load to choose from. Woodland Scenics have a nice range…as do The Army Painter. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for a wonderful idea but I've got to ask what scale are you working in
@BitesizeWargaming

Thanks for watching and for the compliment. The vehicle(s) used in the video are Bolt Action vehicles from Warlord Games, so 1/56th scale. It’d work on any scale though…I’ve used it on Warhammer 40K stuff and smaller 20mm models too.

Hi great video and has helped me a lot, at the moment I am in the middle of a British tank project and was wondering how you add foliage to the nets and what type of foliage you would use once again great video thank you.

Thanks…glad you found it useful! I found some leaf scatter in a local model shop and added that at the same time as gluing the net on.
