I'm not experienced in piston making I'm just DIY fix my stuff man this man here lives on a rock in the middle of the Pacific ocean he has had to make stuff work Not as intended if I was needing my scooter fixed on said rock i ask this man how to !! I'm sure his scooter is the fastest on rock

@@scottyjones27 Deffinatly not. As someone who has biuld many engines here this guy has no clue what he is doing. Also using a Cast Aluminum Piston o make a high compression piston is a horrible idea.

I understand what you did and the methodology you used to reach the end point. What was the piston used for to begin with and what did you modify the piston to fit into for use? Unless I know that then all I see is someone just cutting some aluminum. Maybe I am just thick or something or something but I do not see why you modified the piston. I have to assume you modified the piston for a racing application.

from what I see, he has a "sporty" piston damaged (is broken in the crown, first 3-5 seconds of the video), took a piston with huge compression height (distance from the compression ring and the top of the piston), and made some machining to copy it the crown. from a machining point of view, the guy has amazing manual skills, no doubt. From a thechnical point of view, if the objective is to make this engine more "compressed" instead of buying expensive forged pistons (the one he copied is clearly a forged piston) it may be good considering the costs involved, but for performance point of view, is no way, the sporty piston is lighter and stronger, the piston he used to modify is cast aluminum, it is heavy compared to the sporty forged one, but, I can understand, when you do not live in a rich country, you need to adapt at what you have, is like "made it in a budget" but more extreme way.

How thick is the piston crown after that much machining?

approximately 5mm , with this shape the valve part is very close to the piston ring ( people order )

@@thefreedomguyuk it depends of the application, from what I see, 5mm can be enough for a Naturally Aspirated engine

@@thefreedomguyuk it's enough. Use 13:1 compression ratio. Huge valve, stroke up, extreme camshaft profile upgraded Ignition, porting polish, proper cooling will boost the horsepower from 14 to 30HP minimum

Skill operator beda2 boskuh ini piston masih lunak , pake dudukan pen itu juga sama klo k tetekan aga kuat jg berubah dia meter belakang, al hasil yg honing ketipu karna doer bagian belakang, terimakasih masukanya boskuh 👍 🙏

the problem probably is, that the country where the guy lives is not as rich as US or the EU, probably he can buy 8-10 sets of pistons with the money you can buy Wiseco pistons, some peoples need to adapt to their economy/environment.

no resistirá la comprensión, además no me gustó tampoco la manera de tornear, el torno girando para atrás, no es necesario para hacer éste trabajo, la reversa del torno solo se utiliza en ocasiones exclusiva, cuando sea muy necesario porque es la única opción. pero no es muy recomendable. Soy especialista en operador de máquinas y herramientas, con muchos años de experiencia. Saludos desde Moscú.
