How to move the PIVOT in HOUDINI [OMG why so hidden?]

In this tutorial I will show you how to move the pivot point of an object, using the handles to place it wherever you want.

On the top shelf on the modify tab, make sure you are in the object context, select move pivot to center, and then move center to pivot.

handy, but this is more about moving it to a custom location, which is a well hidden option

In addition, typing expression centroid(0, D_X), centroid(0, D_Y), centroid(0, D_Z) into pivot trasform x, y and z representively and the pivot will be centered in the bounding box of the geometry. Another handy expression is bbox. :)

" translation refers to moving an object without rotating it or changing its shape or orientation; it shifts the object in space." - my word is correct...last thing you want is a pivot rotating
