you should'nt be twisting wheel while you transfer between modes. you're supposed be in neutral, press 4x4 button; switch to drive/reverse if it hasn't already locked. go straight until orange light has stopped flashing and is solid = locked , also at about 3:15 mins in your light isn't lite for position "P,R,D,2L,1L" so i don't think its fully in position

2001 Toyota Sequoia has a "crippled" center differential lock as it can only be locked in 4WD low range and in 1st gear (not D) as shown in this video.

I'm looking at a 2004 Sequoia with 170,000 mi. Should I get it? I've heard good things but I don't know what years are good and what years to avoid. It has the obvious handful of cosmetic flaws but nothing terrible for it being 20 years old. He wants $8,900

If you put it in neutral, your transmission won’t work at all… try it… put it in neutral, then put your car in reverse or drive. It won’t go anywhere.

It’s for flat towing. It’s usually only used for people with RV’s to flat tow a smaller vehicle to drive around once they set up camp. I’ve never seen a Sequoia pulled behind an RV though.

Use when shifting to and from 2low or 4hi so it wont damage the gears.
