Love your videos. I is nice to see someone critiquing without trolling. I do have another reason for buying minis other than plastic crack or fomo. Though I must say I don't just stick to GW. Currently I am forcing myself to paint through a bag of Mongols. 15mm metal figures because (a) I'm retired and (b) some Russian stated that a regiment of Modern US Marines would lose it if they were confronted by a Tumen, (10,000 Mongols) hoard. I intend to game the scenario to prove a point. That if the Marines are allowed their standard equipment, minus air support, AFV's and artillery they will still paste the floor with the Mongols before they ever get within any meaningful range to do damage. The same way I have German v Brit Battle Front armies to re-enact Alam El Halfa. A battle no one seems to know about, probably because the actual battle was just Brit on German and the Brit's hammered the Germans. Rommel's first defeat by Monty in the Nth African Desert. So I have mini's that need painting. I saved money buying them because they were bought at the cheapest price I could get. And they were bought down to my interest in silly scenarios, historical or what if. Unfortunately I have a few problems. My eyesight is not what it was. I have been suffering from continuous gout attacks since Dec 2021 and I don't have a dedicated painting station. So I'm jealous of all you hobbyists that have a basement, garage or studio.

You describe my problem here, I feel this. Sadly, simply waking up earlier is not an option for me. I already wake up at 5:40, take care of me and the dogs needs and then off to work to sit at my desk at 7:30. If I want to paint before work and get enough sleep I would have to wake up at ~3:30 and go to bed around 7-7:30 pm. On top of that housework and exercising, let alone other hobbies. Not enough time! I think I have to strictly divide my spare time between pc gaming and painting. The problem is, that currently gaming is winning most of the time because it is so much easier to squeeze in a fast session of gaming than painting. No effort, no preparations, jut sit down and press start.

Up until this year I could usually be relied upon to knock out a few hundred to (once in 2018) a thousand painted models a year, but so far in 2022, I've managed 6... My painting mojo has basically evaporated, but my collecting has continued apace. From being successfully bottomed out to 0 at the start of the 2021 my pile of of opportunity has just this evening crossed over the 500 unpainted models barrier, placing it comfortably into 'pile of shame' territory. So, I make this (non-binding) pledge in the comments section of a KZfaq video, no more acquiring/printing models until I FAP the shame away!

Welcome back! Great to see regular uploads again. And this video was an eyeopener for me: Mindset is a big part in "getting things done", and I often stray too far away from my initial goals. That said, I might even come back to your advice. (But on the other hand: I know who I am... 😂)

“Timmy The Titan”’s buddy could be “Reginald The Reaver”, or “Terence The Titan”. Or just simply “George”. Great video, mate- my painting/modeling output has decreased tremendously over the past two years. Sometimes it’s due to outside influences beyond my control, but most often it’s lack of motivation caused by frustration or even depression. Taking a step back to remember what it is that I love about the hobby, even if it takes a day or two without hobbying, usually gets me back to my paintbrushes fairly quickly. Thanks for the inspiration!

I think fear holds me back. I spend a lot of time every day building models but i put off painting because. I dont really have a style yet but i want uniformity and my army to be what I envision. Sometimes its that my models are just not bassed yet. I'm with you likeing building list and having options as at this point I have about almost every army at 2k points. I'm hoping to get my but in gear with my most recent which is Custodes so that only 23 models in total.

Good idea mate, I work 6 - 2 and 2 - 10. I'm tempted to change it so I get up 50 minutes earlier with the sole purpose of painting. On my 6 - 2's at least, 2 - 10's maybe get up a tad earlier too.

Usually I paint about 3 hours on the weekends sort of... takes me about 40 days to paint a 20 dwarf unit

Go for a Red Dwarf tribute - have Kryten the Titan.

I think the key to me painting more minis would be to find a job where I did about 3 hours less a day. Good, frank talk about what you need to do to get in the Elston mindset & have a chance of coming close to your painting prowess. And the second titsn should be called Terence, or Terry for short
