Definitely excellent information to know. I just recently learned of the "15%" stab they take out of the amount after everything is sold and, as you said, it hurt :( I'm surprised that they take so much out of Miniatures. That said, I will be more cautious in the future and look out for those selling discount listings! :)

I like the headswap conversions. I'm not a fan of the Neon green weapons, I like it when its a bit subtle. I can see why you did it. If you were going more for an Alien vibe the weapons could have been highlighted Grey and Sliver.

Hi that's exactly the look i would like to get for my intruders in nemesis the board game ( they're xenomophs but without paying royalties to Aliens) So if i got it clear is - Shinny black primer - GSW colorshift cobalt blue - dry brush with some metalic paint? - paint it over again with a translucent black ink ( could you give the name or link vallejo premium candy black?) - then the green details? Mytrin or something like that is what i hear but pretty sure I'm not getting it right - for the tiny green details i have tesseract glow Could you confirm?

Glad to see you're back, excited to hear about F.A.P. again :D It really comes down to IP being used to leverage crossmedia interests to create a day one customer base and ignite a previously stagnant one. As a recent example pertaining to anime, Monster Fight Club just announced an Edgerunners starter box for Combat Zone, which I'm tempted by despite the game not grabbing me on its first pass just because they're well sculpted minis of iconic characters. Overall though, IP is just a previously established concept, same as fantasy races, classes, art movements, and historical concept. If the concept of the mini is my bag, I'm likely to buy it if the price is right.

GW hooked with Dawn of War, it may have taken me until lockdown to buy minis and learn to paint but now have a tonne of plastic.

Honestly, I never would have heard of tabletop gaming if it wasn’t for GW. I dipped my toe, then when Horus Heresy came out in ‘12, I was balls deep, but now, I don’t do the hobby anymore. It was the lore - specifically heresy - that made me spend thousands. But the imposition of Imperial Fists as the Uber legion, the horrendously bloated siege of terra, the almost 100 books that tells the story of a very linear storyline, other stuff, it made lore boring. And without interesting lore, I’m lost and not interested in the hobby anymore.

Good minis and good games can make a good IP. They definitely come first. Bad minis and a terrible game cannot be overcome just because it's a neat IP i like.
