I know that should not be a issue i used a single stage to base a new bumber... going flat the area and put a base coat. Is 600 grit okay.. dont want any scratch mark showing in the clear

Yo Marco! I must have missed it in the video. Did you use a fast activator during this session? I was thinking medium with a splash of slow activator would help me wet out these budget jobs. Having some minor issues with chasing that wet line when using medium activator with smr1150. Doing full paint jobs.

Fast activator for cold weather, Medium and slow for hotter temps

Can the Slow Urethan Grade Reducer be used with smr 1150 clear coat? Just wondering how wet I can get it. Just a splash, or am I smoking that crack again? @@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937

What air pressure do you have set on your compressor sir and also on the gun? I am currently using Eastwood lt100 but will be investing on the new Blackwidow HTE gun from Harbor Freight for the next project. Thank you.

How much was that base paint per gallon
@speedokoterefinishnetwork49374 ай бұрын
This base per gallon is pretty expensive. Around 600-800 through SPEEDOKOTE, and 400-500 using Axalta. Both good stuff but SPEEDOKOTE out edges the completion as always. I'll put that stuff against any base coat in the world

Hey Marco. I've had good luck doing blends, but did a metallic silver one yesterday and dusted the base too close to the tape line. The lighting wasn't the best at the time, so I didn't catch it until after clearing and I now have an old to new color line. Any suggestions (or do a video?) on how to fix this? Thanks!

I use the SMR-42 on all my clients cars. Wanted a more budget friendly clear. Debating on what speedokote to use. What do you think? I even thought about the fast clear on overalls. Btw Mark what pressure and gun settings are you using on the 1150.
@speedokoterefinishnetwork49374 ай бұрын
@@johnbrigman8444 smr 1150 requires less pressure because it's lower solids so around 16-21 psi. But I really don't pay to much attention to pressure these days
