In this demo I will be covering...
1) Choice of Subject. What makes a good watercolour subject. How to simplify the scene.
2) Materials I use such as the paper. I will also cover the paints I use and the palette, plus how I hold the different brushes for different techniques.
3) Doing the outline sketch as the first step. How to draw different figures in a street scene.
4) Doing the sky and the first wash of the background and then the foreground.
5) Shadows and details of the figures.
6) Watch out my highlighting tips.

Thank you so much, Tim! I love watching you paint. It is expanding my own limited painting vocabulary. So fascinating. Have been studying art all my long life and watercolor painting in particular for about 7 years. So glad i found your videos.

Thank you for sharing your great gift and the results of your intricate and laborious work ethic. There are many good watercolorists but not many educators that are that willing to give of themselves. Again, thanks - and I did subscribe.

Thank you so much for sharing such an inspiring painting demo. The only suggestion I would make would be perhaps, if at all possible, to leave at the right hand corner of the screen the reference photo during the whole demo so that we can understand your process. Once you have given the name of the paints you use, that corner could be partially covered by the picture..Thanks for your time and your wonderful teaching.

You don't worry about your pencil lines showing? Or do you try to remove the ones that end up showing? Thank you!
@TimWilmot
@TimWilmot 7 жыл бұрын
I would remove pencil lines that are on bare paper (which has not been painted on)

Not sure I'm a fan of the stabby, patchy approach to the dark mass on the left. I'm not sure why you'd not just wash it in letting it run down smoothly.
