This video is part of series of paintings I did of palm trees. The composition is simple; two trees and a sky with broken clouds and the sun peeking through. It was done with oil paint though it could be done with acrylics just as easy. The style is more impressionism than realism and my style is to keep things loose and painterly. I used a couple of flat brushes along with my favorite palette knife. Overall it took about 2.5 hours to complete this painting. I ended up doing five different palm tree paintings, some not worthy of posting a video, but that's all part of the experiment of creating art.
