I am an abstract artist working primarily with oil, acrylic, inks, and resin. However you have helped me return to my first love. I think I am much more talented than I thought. Karen Rice Watercolour Channel maybe MUCH more was pushing it a bit.... lol. Yes it is incredible how we can allow others words to shape how we feel about ourselves. Unfortunately in my case it was an older art teacher in primary school that just didn’t have a filter on their mouth......they just happened to be in my family 😳😳😳

Lovely Pansies! There is something so refreshing about them. How are the tips on the Silver Brushes? Do they come to a nice, fine point?

Hi Karen you teach beautifully. Can u suggest to put anything on the paper to make colours really flowy on it. They get absorbed by the paper to give very light effect

Thank you for your comment, I’m delighted that you like the tutorial. If your paint is getting absorbed into your paper, make sure it is suitable for water colour? If it is and it is still too absorbent, almost like blotting paper? It could be the paper is damaged in some way? Try another pad or sheet of watercolour paper to see if it makes a difference? Thank you Pat for your lovely message and for joining the membership! So glad that you like the tutorials and my way of teaching that makes you smile. Sorry that you’re having trouble accessing the membership… I had the same problem on my iPad as well, so I watched the membership videos in Safari / Google. You can find the videos on my channel home page, just click the community tab for members only. if that doesn’t work, some members deleted the KZfaq app from their iPad and had no problem watching their videos afterwards in Safari / Google. You can also watch the videos on your PC. Hopefully KZfaq can fix this problem soon. Take care, happy painting :-)

I've commented on your Beautiful work before but hoping you can help with a question. I started watercolor about 2 wks ago. No matter what I do, my paper warps & buckles. I'm using 140 lb 100% cotton & even tried stretching by soaking & drying paper. But it still happens when I start painting. Any advice? Thx so much!

Thanks so much! Sorry you are having trouble with your paper buckling. I mostly use watercolour gummed blocks, which helps with preventing the painting from buckling. Try using a smaller sheet of paper that can help. When stretching your paper, do you use gummed tape?

I WANT TO PAINT THIS BUT DON'T HAVE AND CAN'T FIND MINERAL VIOLET. WHERE CAN I PURCHASE IT OR WHAT CAN I USE TO MIX TO GET CLOSE.
