Appreciate the total story with the mess-ups included and options for fixing or distracting away from them. As a beginner painter, one of the hardest obstacles at the moment are mistakes and keeping them from ruining the mojo of that particular session. Currently painting some Maschinen Krieger in white and didn't know what I got myself into until I was multiple base layers in and things started to get funky.

Not something you need to worry about dude. You will occasionally see my brushes on the channel with no text on the handles. These are from our alpha batch and they're over 2 years old looked after carefully, you can expect to get from them 1000 and 2000 points out of every brush the important thing is to avoid overly saturating them with too much wet paint that should be easy with the dampening pad though. Let us know if you have any issues😊

Good question, there are 2 fast methods: 1) dark metal followed by a white metal within 2) a later colour of your armour e.g grey for black followed by a darker colour within this.😊

Hey, looks good man! I usually just resort to good ol' Vallejo Deck Tan and highlight with proper white, but with the chipping, have you tried using a sponge and pencil? Sponge on some (in this case) white, then use a soft, sharp pencil to fill in some of the chips, lots of tiny chips can be more subtle and give more of a worn appearance than bigger ones do, plus the pencil really speeds things up!
@ArtisOpus
@ArtisOpus 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I really love sponges but definitely haven't used pencils, apart from very small experiments. I found their result can be a bit too subtle so they probably need to go over a dark base only... so within chipping perhaps on a White Scar😊

Gonna ask my standard question, when will you tackle some orks? Want to see your take on a great Waaaagh! :P Also, brush care question if you don't mind? On my size 4 Series S brush I've got a couple of stray hairs that curl off to the side even though the rest is in a beautiful point - is there a way to bring them back in when they've really curled away or should I just take my clippers to those couple of hairs so the rest is perfect? It's one of my absolute favourite brushes, use it on most things and I don't wanna ruin it...
@ArtisOpus
@ArtisOpus 3 жыл бұрын
Personally, I'd take clippers or a very sharp knife and cut off the hairs as close to the ferrule as possible. Size 4 is also my favourite from the S, I use it for everything🤩Orks are high on the list, they're just gonna need lots of off-camera experimentation and figuring out. I believe green skin done right has quite a lot of nuance,

Hey Kieran, Bet I can give it a good guess, could be either of these: 1.) Basecoat was too thick/not thinned/thin enough (this adds texture you may not want later Whatever you do over this it'll show up, if it's that then ignore the following! 2.) Paint was too thick on the brush/too wet/wasn't removed or tested on texture palette enough before going to model 3.) You used a chalky paint!
