Hi. I don't know how you illuminate your painting studio, but I can only chime in and say that a little bit more light, perhaps from the left side onto the model, would be a great thing to add. :) It seems like most of the light comes from above, and on dark figures, it makes it very difficult to make out the different shapes.

Um....... Alchohol? The True Metal paints from Vallejo do, but stuff like Balthazar gold is just flakes of a shiney material suspended in normal medium. Its still water based.

Smell it. I might be wrong but they smell like alcohol to me. Only the metallics tho

Its probably the mineral they use for the metal flakes. I just compared them to my alcohol paints and they are different scents. The scent that I'm smelling is more earthy.

+bogger3k i could swear last time i smelled leadbelcher it smalled like alcohol to me. I cant smell anything right now because of my allergies but if im wrong I take it back.

The only reason they tend to use alcohol is to prevent rusting.

I can smell better now and baltasar gold doesnt smell too much of alcohol to me but leadbelcher definitely does. Also retributor armor

When you say you water down your paints, how do you do it? Do you pour some out into a cup and mix it with water or do you just put water right into the paint bottle?

Mix them both in a palette. Take a brush full of paint and transfer it to the palette, then use some water or medium and mix it with the paint in the palette

I watch the appropriate video of yours on replay while I paint the same model. I skip a bunch of steps you do because I only want tabletopstandard, but thanks for making these tutorials. But yeah whats a palette? lol

A palette is basically any non absorbing flat surfaced object to put your paint on. It can be plastic, metal, ceramic, or even a cd. You can buy artist palettes in art stores or just find something around your house

I switch between a bunch of different ones. Mostly art store watercolor brushes. For edge highlighting I use a citadel fine detail brush. I use a number 2 for basecoating large areas 1 for smaller areas, an army painter drybrush and thats pretty much all I use. Sometimes I use older brushes but mostly i just grab whatever looks like it can do the job right.

Dont let the paint get to the metal and always wash your brushes with soap after you're done. Dont let paint stay on the tip ever. Wash it constantly while you are painting. Mine get weird all the time and not all of them are perfect but its sometimes hard to take care of them

Man I really dislike your bone colours, just use the good old Zandri dust, Agrax, Ushabti bone combination.
