One of my struggle used to be serve receive! But After learning these from Brandon at Camp in FL, my serve receive improved 1000%! My body movement got much simpler, calmer, and I’m giving decent passes 90% of time (used to be less than 40-50%)!! 🙏

Dude, this was friggin' amazing. I'm totally the target for this video. I decided to take two things and try to apply it. I chose to try and concentrate on keeping my shoulders square to the net and angle my shoulders to direct the ball. I almost instantly started getting some of the best passes I've ever done. Thanks for the great tips!

This is going to be covered in our video next week. The quick answer is your platform has to get set quick and allow the ball to do the work. This means you can’t swing.

We always teach a lowest acceptable pass at 6 feet above the top of the antenna. If you get lower than that, your setter will quickly run out of time! If you want to pass perfect every time, keep reading. We are going to help you pass with more accuracy, more consistency and more confidence! Get the positioning and the mechanics to control the first touch against any server, in any weather. You’ll also learn to develop a mindset that keeps you in the game so you can stay focused and win matches. All you have to do is sign up for our Online Coaching Program, The Elite Performers Tribe (www.betteratbeach.com/coaching) . We take you through the basics and then work all the way up to eyework and advanced mechanics so you pass every ball right where it needs to go! We’ll show you how to pass for option (on-2) attack, how to fight off great float serves and how to pass for YOUR best offense. Once inside the membership, you’ll be able to unlock “Pass with Consistency and Confidence: The Serve Receive Master Class” (www.betteratbeach.com/howtopassinvolleyball) which will build your footwork and passing platform from the ground up. It comes complete with footwork drills, solo drills, partner exercises and passing charts so you can measure your progress! We also include with 9 more skill courses AND our 60 Day At-Home Max Vertical Jump Training Program (www.betteratbeach.com/60DayMaxVerticalJump) Once you sign up, you'll be able to watch the in-depth tutorials, film your “before” videos, start and film your at-home drills and begin posting to our Private Facebook Group. Then, our coaches will break down your mechanics, footwork and touch at our weekly online meetings. Yes, that means we look at YOUR videos and we coach YOU! A coach I greatly respect suggested I put backspin in my pass to the setter and I’m struggling with whether I want to junk my perfect (IMO) pass for a backspin pass which may or may not even be that helpful.
@betteratbeachvolleyball
@betteratbeachvolleyball 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, some people believe putting backspin on a pass makes it easier to set! You'd want to make sure that you weren't changing good passing mechanics, bending elbows or pulling the pass off the net trying to put backspin on it. It might mess with your passing, plus a good setter should be able to set a good pass with any or no amount of spin. But if you try it and it works better for you, why not🤷‍♀️

I'm going to work on these things in my volleyball gameplay. I was wondering if anybody would happen to know a likely cause of the biggest issue I have with receiving and passing. Wether it's an overhand or underhand pass/receive, my passes typically go just past the net, where an opponent could try to hit it, or our setter can't get it. This is one of the most frustrating things, and I want to address this issue in particular before anything else. If I could properly pass without the ball going too deep (but deep enough), I feel my gameplay would jump up a complete level!

Any tips/help for people that come from a weight lifting background and due to size or lack of mobility, can not get their elbows together to create a flat platform? My platform is more wedge shaped instead of flat, therefore the ball contact has to be precisely in the middle of the wedge, if not, it is going to hit one side of the wedge, bounce to the other side, and the ball is not going to go where I want it to. Needless, to say, this leads to much frustration.
