I love you, Lori, but you gotta add a trigger warning to the title if you are tossing a set of Prismas in a box and then shake them up. I died a little inside because I waited more than 2 years to get my Prismas and they are so precious to me. 🙂 But the video was greatly helpful as your videos always are. Thank you as always for your time and effort. I've learned so much from you and you really do cover things I have seen few other artists and colorists discuss or teach. I can't even tell you how grateful I am. I have had what i consider to be major revelations and breakthroughs artistically that i may never have had or may not have had for many years without your teaching and influence. I wish I had found your channel early in my art and coloring journey. The things I've learned from you are invaluable and if you taught me personally in real life face-to-face, i could never afford to pay you what your teaching has been worth to me. Just please don't give me a heart attack like that ever again! Lol. I adore you, but I'm not a cat! I only have 1 life. 😂😘

I just got mine for Christmas, and I just couldn't watch... My Prismacolor's are so precious I only carry them flat.

HEART ATTACK Day - Lori my heart was in my mouth when you did that to the pencils I just wanted to grab your hand and tell you to stop but............. I know you were just try to teach us but wow I hope you hugged them when you put back in the box I can hear them crying all the way to Australia - Thank you for this big hugs xoxo

Thank you Thank you so much for this video. I am a beginner colorist. I subscribe to various you tube colorist’s pages; am taking online classes with The Virtual Instructor; have many books and have watched several videos on Color Theory 101. But I have to say, this explanation made the most sense related to choosing colors. Thank you! 👍😁

Excellent teaching! I'm an auditory, visual, hands on learner & this works! Thank you for your straight forward way of teaching. I will admit to a sharp intake of breath, when the pencils were scooped out of their nestled home to be scrambled together like eggs! LOL You are a professional and know what you are doing. I would not try this at home!

They're worth it! I don't think you'll have any buyer's remorse with Prismas, as long as you give them a fair chance and learn to use them if you have no experience with them. They're beautiful pencils with gorgeous, vibrant colors and blend like a dream.

@@anniebowbannie109 You can also buy them open stock here in the UK meaning you can buy them one by one, just type into google prismacolor open stock pencils UK and you will find several sites that sell them and some have very good deals, hope that helps

@@anniebowbannie109 They're not exactly cheap here in the states. I waited over 2 years for the full 150 set, but finally caught them on sale for $70 on Amazon when I had money from my tax refund to buy them. Now I want the 120 set of Faber-Castell Polychromos and a set of Derwent Inktense pencils. Arteza Expert Colored pencils are, in my opinion, very comparable to Prismas and they are budget-friendly. I paid about half the price for my Artezas that I paid for my Prismas. Unless they have added more colors, (which they havent yet, to my knowledge), there are only 72 pencils in the full set, but they are also very vibrant and pigmented and blend beautifully. They also have color-fast ratings, which is almost unheard of in budget pencils. They are a really good option if you can't afford Prismas. I don't know how much they charge for shipping to UK, but it may be worth checking out. Everyone who loves coloring deserves to have decent supplies. If you need tips and suggestions, you are definitely in the right place. I have garnered a treasure trove of information from Lori. She is an absolute natural at teaching the different aspects and techniques of coloring. She is truly an amazing lady and seeing as how I am making recommendations, I highly recommend watching as many of her videos as possible and taking notes and maybe creating a playlist of her videos. I keep a small notebook, pen, sketchbook and pencils on hand so I can take notes and try out some of the techniques she teaches while watching her videos.

@@crystalfranklin2583 Get the intense first. I love the Polychromos too, but with the inktense you can create easy backgrounds and effects you can't get from regular pencils. Polychromos are a bit tricky to get used to, but very vivid and come in amazing colors.

Arghh Lori, I absolutely cringed watching you mix the pencils. I'm sure you are trying to teach, but it was kind of distracting seeing them handled this way. Many of us struggled to afford our Prismacolors, especially this year when they didn't go on sale as they have in the past. Maybe you could use a random number generator and then find them in the trays instead. Adding the Ultramarine to Burnt Umber makes a really great dark.
