Anurag Chaudhari that comes with confidence in your ability. Watch high level football and watch the movement of the CAM and look at how them being constantly aware of their surroundings (scanning over their shoulders) it allows them to move and exploit space.

There’s no perfect way to play CDM, there are multiple ways to play CDM. Such as a more modern approach in Busquest, a deep-lying playmaker like Pirlo or a typical/classical CDM who mainly acts as a wall in front of the defence

I dont know if i would want to use fernandinho as an example for this position. He was on the pitch and was part of the reason brazil got 7 from germany. And the next wc he was on the field when they were eliminated. He is in england for so long and cant speak english. Another thing those turns shielding the ball is seldom done by any english DM. They usually dispose of the ball quickly or make many square passes. And is the main reason why england doesnt win silverware. The last world class DM for england is peter reid. And he couldnt get picked. Then michael carrick and he could make the team either. Owen hargreaves was used as a wing back . I dont think england is where i want to learn this position. England can teach striker they always have world class strikers. Their best DM now is winks and they think he is trash. The thing is DM must be able to dribble in traffick. That cannot be taught. And they must be strong on the ball and difficult to dispossess. They must also have vision and they must control the tempo of the game. Plenty of their game is natural ability.

Dont go straight into the tackle ,try and force them to pass or retreat by pressing on them with strength. Having speed is a huge advantage especially against fast players
