When I first heard this guitar solo, years ago, it just grabbed me. I still believe it's one of the best guitar solos ever written. Thanks for breaking it down, so perfectly. You are a very gifted guitar player and teacher.

The way you explain things makes it easier to understand. How the notes from the chords and solo playing those notes explain a lot. There's a reason you have so many likes compared to 0 dislikes. Thanks for explaining it clearly.

Thank you for doing this one! Ian Bairnson is such a criminally underrated guitarist...he has the knack of putting just the right amount of pizzazz at just the right time in a song. Very subtle, very under appreciated!

Great detailed tutorial. Thx sir. You have a very good style of relaying info clearly with just enough background and good solid playing. Nice tone too! I have a student who is very interested in the 80s Alan Parsons material and we’ve been digging into some of the songs lately. Keep up the great work!

You are right, this is a great song to learn. I see three different scales or modes to play. In the key of D, the root, fourth G and fifth A, you can play bm pentatonic, D major scale, and the A Mixolydian which is the Fifth mode of the D scale. That position at the second fret from the F# - G note A mixolydian. G is flat seventh in A mixolydian scale. From the fifth position of the Key to D. Thanks for the great work you do.

Very, very cool lesson. Thank you very much. Finally got this solo thanks to you!! Beautiful song of a classic album. I always liked the style of Bairnson. He's a very melodic player. Much underrated indeed. I see you also dedicated a lesson to 'I wouldn't want to be like you' of I Robot... Great. Can you please consider doing the solo of 'Gonna get your fingers burned' of the Eye in the Sky-album? It's a more complex solo compare to this one. Again, thank you very much! Great lesson!
