Very popular tune here in Texas during the early 80's

Got a lot of airplay back in the 80's on the "rock" station I picked up out of Pittsburgh, even before Tom Cochrane had his mainstream hit "Life is a Highway". Love this song.

I was born in canada to us parents in military and raised in S C USA but this song was a big hit through my teen years and have always loved it esp the break down and lead , it brings back great memories and fun as hell to play , thank you for reminding me of a great song

Excellent video thank you so much for doing it. I've been searching for a lesson on this tune for a while and could never find one that sounded and felt good. I was a high school wrestler in the '90s and this song was on The vision quest movie soundtrack. I know I've listened to this song over a thousand times.

Thanks KDA! I heard this on "Miami Vice" back in the 80s and it always haunted me for years until I found out what it was and got hold of a copy. Now I'm well on the way to playing it. Just a minor correction on the ending. At 4 minutes and 11 seconds on the recording he hits the first chord four times instead of two. He does that just the one time.

A pedal steel guitar was mainly use in this song, Even in the lead solo guitar.
