I am so glad I found your channel. I just got my bass about 6 weeks ago and have never played bass before, played drums in high school. I just wanted to learn some riffs to entertain myself, no intension of ever playing public. I am learning some scales and cords by charts. Your way of teaching is so easy to understand and you go slow enough that I can follow. You definitely make learning fun. I can already play your "Stand By Me!" By the way, I am a 77-year-old grandma. lol

@Carol cjh Wow you rock.. Never to old to learn. Especially if you have the desire for it. I to played drums a lot as a teen into my early 20s an at 31 my dad got me a guitar 4 Christmas. By then I had 2 little girls an not a lot of time. But I had the mind set that I would be able to play the songs that I grew up loving. This was pre KZfaq didn't have money for lessons. I would buy guitar world magazines an just cherry pick what I could understand an get to sound like the song. Some stuff would take longer than others. But I'm glad to say that now there's no song I can't figure out with time. There's no substitute for the work. No short cuts..lol I now have a 5 electric Guitars 1 Acoustic a bass. An jam open mick's at a few different locations... the love for the music is what keeps me going..god bless you..would love to have an update on your progress...

I've been playing drums for 26 years, and in the interest of my family's sanity, I wanted a second instrument that would have volume control. I dig bass, so it was an easy decision. I just picked one up 2 days ago, learned a lot on beginning technique, and just played my second song ever on bass thanks to you! I sound terrible, but I made it through it all, and that's all I need to keep the drive alive. Thank you again!

Hey man, make sure to learn how to pluck your bass right and all notes on the bass, it may be boring at first but if you want to be in a band and you want to tell the pianist the note your playing, you can’t just say 5th fret. Much luck bro! Make sure not to focus on not just one string don’t be scared to play other strings in a song. you will learn how to space your fingers when playing bass in the future, bass is really a great instrument and very important to music. Hey! I was struggling as well but after kept playing these exact three notes over the past two days, now I can do it rather decently. Feels like using my pinky on 5 and index on 3 is the fastest way of playing this part. My pinky was super weak two days ago but now it works much better. Just keep trying you can do it
