About this video:
The Fried Liver attack is a chess opening that can be played as white against the Two Knight's Defense. The 2 Knight's Defense is a very popular choice for black, so the Fried Liver Attack is a very good opening to know. There are a lot of opening traps and tricks that arise and white can easily get quick and easy checkmates if black is unprepared. In fact, this opening is so dangerous that most top rated chess players will avoid it at all cost. By sacrificing a knight on f7, white is able to completely open up black's king and bring it to e6 where it can easily be attacked by whites pieces. This opening is extremely fun and I highly recommend all beginner chess players learn how to play it.

I started experimenting with the fried liver algorithm and discovered a bishop/knight version of the traditional 'scholar's mate'. It goes like this: Nf3 e4 Bc4 Ne5 In this scenario, Nxf7 forks queen and rook. However, Bxf7#. Now, obviously there are ways to prevent this and they're very similar to defending against the fried liver position: e6, d5, anything that lets either the queen or the king-side bishop out, etc.

imo this fried liver is not as easy as it sound, while it is easy for black to make mistake it is also easy for white to make mistake because white is down a piece and some of us at the lower level got over agitated and play over offensive and ended up make blunder i have watched several video about fried liver attack, and each time i watch a new one, i learned new things, so yeah its not easy

Very good points, even though it's a good position for white, it can definitely be tricky to win for players who struggle with tactics. Thanks for bringing this up!

You can also learn what to play against the Na5 line but the nice thing about this opening is that if black doesn't play Nf6 but plays Bc5 then you can play b4!? which is another great gambit opening called the Evan's gambit which is just as solid as the fried liver or maybe even more solid. This can carry you towards 1500 elo.

I would like a video from 1:00 where black does not fall in the trap, and simply advances his knight to G4. You can't take it, because it is defended by a Bishop, and if you try to get more material with your Pawn, his King is coming for your Fried Liver knight.

Queen to f3 threatening checkmate since the knight moved, and his other knight is still threatened by your pawn. If queen takes your knight, you have pawn takes his knight and your queen is still threatening to take on f7. It's a sharp line with a few variations, but black's position is crumbling and the engine says +3.5 for white.

What if at 4:24, black captures the Knight with the C pawn, would that then mean white sacrified both Knights and Rook in vain?

@@agent.whiskeyy If at 5:02 the Black does Qb5, the King can retreat to Kc7 and the Black Queen can move Qd7 or Qe7 to come inbetween a future move of White Qf7.

@@grizzlyjp Yes but just before that black can't play Bd6 because the bishop won't be defended by the c pawn so you can just take the bishop.

Let Stockfish play the black side of the Fried Liver Attack and you'll quickly learn that it's not so easy for white. It *is* defensible. However, among humans, it's a difficult task for black to defend because it's easier to find attacking moves than defensive moves.
