also its good to have rebar low because the top half of the slab takes the downward compression weight at the bottom half of the slabs that downward pressure turns into tensile weigh and that is what rebar is for tensile strength

Like your work. Looks good. I hope to bet back to doing jobs myself this year and seeing your work reminds me of the quality I was known for before I broke my back. Your videos are inspiring me to get back to it, always love quality jobs. It's obvious to me that you understand when when the job is complete, that job has your name on it. Unfortunately, while I've been healing I've had to use many handicap ramps and while I never noticed how poor the quality of finish is on so many of them before my injury, I sure did when I had to use them! I would always think back to my jobs and remember how much nicer my ramps turned out. Your work reminds me how nice the jobs should always be even if it's getting tiled later. Your exactly right in that regard. Always bring the A game! Congratulations on your success.

@@OdellCompleteConcrete I've spent my life in construction, all trades. Two trades I enjoyed the most for various reasons were plumbing and concrete. Although I do enjoy running equipment, excavators, backhoes, and a skippy were always the most fun and a good operator can do great work! Anyway, with concrete you gotta keep the weight off and keep that L-4 and L-5 lumbar limber, very important to avoid injury.

Question: Almost all of your jobs seem to use a concrete pump, in my area of rural upstate New York the rental fee is around $1000 for a 3 hour rental of the pump and operator delivered, what are the prices like in your area? Nate W that's quite a bit. Not sure what's involved in the 8x12. If it's just deck blocks or concrete tubes. Stairs landings.. All wood material? Composite decking would raise cost substantially. But back to the topic. This is concrete work. It's a specialty. But just wood construction should not be that much. Get a few quotes my friend.

About how much would it cost for a 26ftx 200ft maybe a little longer driveway run me. My existing drive is started to crack from the 2016 flooding and is chipping away from salt damage being from Louisiana It never snows and when it did my other half thought salt would be a good method for melting it. Other than that it is in a pretty good shape for being put down in the early 70s.
