I agree I clean before and after the holidays, I like to start with a deep clean and then decorate my home. I am 71 so I do take a couple of days to,do this and the. I give myself grace when I take down all the decorations. I do love your pine floors and definitely I would absolutely cover them until there is less traffic so as not to ruin them. Also loved the dancing with Benjamin and watching the kiddos love on the table and just in general being able to see them being their selves. Have a blessed day❤️❤️❤️❤️

My hubby and I are empty nesters, but decorate our home as much as we did when our 2 sons were little. We’ve been decorating for about a week, and I THINK we’re almost finished! I clean before decorating and when everything gets put away. 🎄🎄

100%, I'm a rage cleaner like that when I deep clean. It's like I turn into a monster when I'm normally a "eh, whatever" personality lol. Same inner monologue. Everyone runs including the dog lol. I need a clean home too before I can decorate. It makes a big difference in the outcome and vibe of the house when I'm done.

I totally understand wanting to clean before decorating! But for people who don't have time or energy to clean like this, PLEASE don't feel like you aren't allowed to decorate. If cleaning your baseboards brings you joy that's great! But I promise I have no memory of how clean the baseboards were during my childhood Christmases. I would have remembered if Mama didn't put up a tree because she felt like her house wasn't good enough. No comparing, okay friends? :)

The nose art on glass windows and doors is real, our 3 dogs love decorating with their slobber so it is a daily chore to keep it clean. Love your table and all the decorations. You have a beautiful busy family.🎄

I did a deep clean leading up to Thanksgiving because I was hosting. Perfect time to put my tree and decor up the day after, when the house was still clean. Now I can relax.

There's something festive about deep cleaning your home, maybe because I never do it as enthusiastically as I do it for Christmas :D watching others clean inspire me to do so as well, so I always enjoy videos like this. Especially when they're about Christmas hehe

I laughed so hard at the rage cleaning dialogue! Because it's so relatable and totally what I do. I have about as many animals as you and 5kids as well. My gosh I feel like my house is never clean.

I LOVE THIS STEAM MOP, TOO !!!! I use the lightest setting on my wood floors. I ordered several sets of the heads so I could just " do a load" every so often. GREAT MOP!

I love that your cat is just like LOUNGING on the kitchen counter, lol! And I also love that you use Sprayway, that glass cleaner is second to none! And you're right about having to have a sparkling clean house before I'm able to decorate for Christmas. There's just something about starting with a fresh, blank canvas!

Yeah steam mops will eventually warp your hardwoods I think. I know someone with pine floors that got so scratched up and they just sanded it down and put a clear coat on it so when it get scratched you don’t see the scratched off stain

Window cleaning tip: Go to dollar tree and buy a squeegee. quick once over with a rag in soap & warm water, squeegee it off, then spray with windex & squeegee again. streak free & much faster.

I have one of those Shark mops and we have engineered hardwoods. I just replaced my old one (because I literally wore that thing the hell out) with one like you have. That thing IS THE BOMB!!’

We have super super soft wood floors in our house, too, and we can see every nail scratch from our dogs and every little ding and dent!! It's maddening! Someday we'll be replacing ours, too.

Yep! Gotta do a deep clean before decorating here too! I'll just wake up one morning and decide I want to get the house clean. I'll go crazy deep cleaning and after several hours have gone by I realize I've only done ONE room! 😅 Then give up for another week. 😆

I totally do a deep clean, but this year i stuck to just the room where the main tree lives due to random mom aches that aren't allowing for a lot of bending 🤦🏼‍♀️ who knows why these things happen but I satisfied myself with what I got done pre decorate and I'll bust out all the cleaning post the holiday season.

The manufacturers of steam mops usually say not to use on unsealed flooring or wood etc but I never had any issues with lamenant flooring and it is far weaker. The whole issue is the heat causes the material to expand and contract but if you're using boiling hot soapy water your adding more water than a steam mop... i think its just a disclaimer they have to put so they aren't replacing floors if someone misuses it and lets it sit there in one spot and they cause damage. I will say that on linoleum that is glued down, I have found steam mops actually cause it to lift. Normally in the spot they are sitting to heat up on their little heater tray. I've also heard ppl say they had tile crack from the heat of the steam though I've never experienced it. I think long story short, just pay attention to your specific flooring and watch for extreme temp changes!

Before I put our tree up, I vacuumed and mopped the floor, since I figured it would be a while before that area was cleaned again. Who knew that others do this as well?

Rage cleaning 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that is my conversation every time I deep clean and when I come back from my rage clean blackout , things are thrown out and sometimes things I really needed, kids are in another room avoiding me saying she's at it again 🤦🏿‍♀️... And my husband already knows the deal.😁🤷🏿‍♀️🤣 So glad I'm not alone 🤣🤣🤣🤣

We're cleaning and decorating here too. A painter has been here this week painting the living room, kitchen, and dinning room this week. We're getting the rooms back in order today and decorating out tree today. Looks amazing. Love your new table Angela. Looking forward to yiur next video.

Omg I've said this before but your my spirit animal. I do the same thing. (It's snowing here so yay no more dust so everything should stay nice for awhile) Actually cleaning all day today so I can start decorating it's the most wonderful time of the year. Omg when you said. ( Why is it like this why am I the only person that sees this ) my kids just told me today. Why does this take so long to clean. And I said because I'm only one person and I'm the only person doing it , so you can volunteer to jump in and help otherwise it will take as long as it takes . But to be fair I do like to do things my way and have a system so it's hard for anyone else to help sometimes. Lol. I just get the boys to do some of the heavy lifting and carrying 😉

OT QUESTION With Rosie being so petite does she ever have to deal with people thinking she is a little kid? I said it was random! I had a friend when I was in school who was extremely petite. In kindergarten we had to lift her to use the water fountain. I don't think she ever hit 5 feet, but despite her being highly intelligent and well spoken etc people often flocked to her as the "cute kid" like some sort of need to rescue her. It made her "popular" but it also caused her a lot of heartache to be asked all the time with disbelief how old she was or being called a liar etc for her being in a higher grade than she looked like she appeared to be. I know with homeschooling you have a lot more control, but would love to know if family/friends/cousins etc accidentally forget that Rosie isn't as little as her size! I've loved getting to watch her grow through your channel. She is such a smart, sassy young lady! I hope she never has to deal with that sort of bullying.
