I think these along with crassula, aeoniums Echeverias and others that start from leaves and cuttings are great beginner succulents for kids because of their ease for propagation. I was always facinated as a kid with how these plants grew from the small pieces!!!!! Great easy plants!!!! From Morris park in the Ozarks to across the Emerald Isle have a wonderful Monday!!!! Peace,Love,Plants!!!!!✌💖🌵🌺🌴🌸🌿🌻

I just bought some of these today! Four plants that are so, so tiny! Maybe an inch and half tall. They have gorgeous stress coloration. I kind of went crazy today buying some new plants. Some new cacti, succulents, and African violets. But, it's spring, time to celebrate!

Several years ago, I gave away all my plants of S. rubrotinctum. About a month later I found one leaf that had fallen on the soil with my Parodia magnifica. From that one leaf, I now have more plants than I started with. Speaking of rooting leaves, I have some plants of sedum dasyphyllum whose leaves are only 1/16 inch in diameter and length. Even these leaves will root if they fall off, but the plantlets are so tiny that it would take years to get a good sized plant from them, so I use stem cuttings. (Sedum Dasyphyllum is a spreading plant that only grows about an inch or so tall and the roots barely penetrate the soil, So I like to use it as a ground cover for larger plants. There is a larger form, but I don't have it.)
