The bent leg calf exercise actually hits the Soleus muscle of the Calf. Since this muscle is Type 1 Fiber (slow twitch) it responds best to high reps (low weight). Target rep range is 15-25 reps thus 20 is perfect. When doing straight leg form you train the Gastrocnemius muscle of the calf. This muscle is mostly made up of Type 2 Fiber (fast twitch) therefor you can go heavier. Target rep range is 8-12 reps thus 10 is perfect. The absolute best way to do either of these (as mentioned in the video) is to hold the top flex for 1 second and the bottom stretch for 1 second. Strict form is absolutely important to avoid momentum. I can guarantee you that most people (including myself) have always used too much weight and poor form which is why calfs hardly grow. Some people are genetically gifted when it comes to calfs. If you're not (like me) then do 3-4 sets seated and 3-4 sets standing calf raises 2x per week for maximum growth. Cheers
