Thank you so much! Thanks for enduring my historical references, I love to know the reason why. Why do we do all things we do in etiquette? Where did the rules come from? Well, there’s a historical reference for almost everything, thank you for watching💕💕💕

Hello! Thank you for watching and what a great comment. Many people in the world eat rice with their hands and there is etiquette for it, think 3 fingers. Thank you for bringing that to my attention, and then thrilled if you basically is this card to my channel and keep turning it, I’d love to hear more of what you think about all the videos may already have posted and will be coming in the future. Kind regards, Heidi🍚

What a marvelous teaching! I am very interested in knowing the etiquette of eating rice with our hands. Is there a reason Africa was not mentioned? I find they eat rice at mostly all of their meals. Again, this was fabulous teaching!

Hello! Thank you so much for watching! And I absolutely love your comment! Generally speaking, the videos we have posted, thus far, pertain to the west. However, I have done a lot of different videos for Asian dining. However, you bring up some really terrific points, and I pride myself on being culturally, competent, (please check out some of the videos we posted about being culturally aware). Across many parts of Africa and parts of the subcontinent and other areas, it is customary to use your hands to eat. I’d love to make a video about this, but meanwhile, broadly speaking, to be proper, when using your hands to eat rice, you use three fingers to eat; index, middle and ring finger. However, that can vary, depending on the area, and local customs. Thank you for such a great comment. I need to make some videos that cover this topic. I’d love if you would watch some of my other videos and offer your thoughts. I think this is a brilliant idea and I thank you very much much! Sending my very best wishes for a lovely day! Heidi 💕💕💕

Heidi , with the wooden chop sticks the ends break off to be used to put on the tabnle and to rest your sticks on top of those little blocks. At leas t that was what I was told.

Very interesting fun facts on the different types of chopsticks and did not know Koreans use the spoon for rice and the chopstick is for the food items. You are amazing.

10:05 I learned something interesting about opening disposable chopsticks from a native Japanese youtuber. It's good to be in the habit of holding the chopsticks parallel with the ground and pulling up and down at the same time that way you don't elbow the person sitting next to you! I rarely see people do that but anytime I do I mentally smile and nod that they're "in the know" lol Edit: Also never ever ever give food to another person chopstick to chopstick in Japan. More funeral rights stuff. Just set it on their plate.

Heidi, you are soo correct,an you a consultant n all, in my grand aunts house the Dowager Duchess of Stickapopple ,our servants brought out a bucket of undercooked Basmati,. Well ,I need not tell you, herself went berserk,,think of an Oranutang wot has had its banannas taken in mid flight. Well all the staff moved back to the bush,,not ideal really !!I cannot go on,,sorry, I'm overcome by the pathos !!!I need to see my consultant now ,!!!
