If you are with someone you must protect, and there are multiple attackers, the best course of action is to shield that person with your own body, trying to focus on all the attackers at once.
Naturally, you will not be able to keep it up forever, so identify the biggest threat (the one closest to you, or the one who is likely carrying a weapon) and attack as fast and as hard as you can! Then immediately switch to the other attacker or attackers. There is no knowing how such a situation might develop, so if both of you can run away, do so!

deathnote939393 Good mindset. In a knife fight you have to fight with a "Non-losing" mentality. Not try to win, but to simply survive, and especially the person you care about.

When it comes to these situations sometimes we may tend to get cold sweat and afraid,which is 50% normal for most people,i been in situation like this and it happned to me , so point is what can u do ? to get rid of this fear/*****
@icynok

zac morris its your adrenaline kicking in with the *Fight or Flight* scenario. the only way really to overcome this is through ALOT of experience honestly. i've been in this situation before but since I know how to box quite well and most people today don't take boxing and love to throw haymakers(wide swinging outward punches) I simply watched both of them, did as he did in the video until i estimated them both and as he says in another video to never underestimate your opponents, hit hard, fast and hit precisely in the chin which will most of the time knock out one of the two guys and now you can focus on the other 100% and usually they will grab their buddy and run.

Another thing is to tell her not to ruin the element of surprise by telling them you're carrying a blade or firearm. Because even if you could have talked your way out of the situation, that may instantly escalate the situation. She has to trust you to deploy your weapon at the right time, without giving them a heads up.

Good video Nick cam I add a step tho, teach your loved one to put both hands on your back when possible if not at least one so you know where they are and they can feel your direction change even slightly and to go with you as you column and funnel you assailants. To you who say your girl should be able to defend herself, I train my soon to be wife and she hits like a donkey kick but I still want her out of harms way whenever possible. Keep up the good work people need to know how unprepared they are and their need to learn to defend themself.

Aside from your clear extensive training, I can tell you have very good instinct because especially towards the end of the video you aren't looking at EITHER of the "attackers" or the camera, you are instinctively looking between them so you can watch both of them with your peripheral view at the same time. Very nice.

I have watched hundreds of videos about self defence in all kinds of situations, yet there hasn't been a single situation so far in my life where I would need this. It always strikes me how pathetic it is that so many people (like me) feel the need to prepare for situations that coudln't even occur if our world was a good place.

+Vincent de Guard what? that's bullshit :P you're gonna let something like that scare you out of enjoying life with your woman? fuck thugs and punks. all bullies are cowards inside. a good rap in the mouth is enough to scare them off. if someone isn't a coward and a bully, he wouldn't be picking on innocent people. the strong and brave don't bully people because they don't have to--they have self confidence that comes from within. they don't have to pick on people to feel big.
@consaka1
@consaka1 8 жыл бұрын
roflmows Amen to that. I got zero respect for bullies. But in cases like this you know they got to be brave because they could easily get shot.

Great advice Nick in as far as covering her so they can't get past you to get to her. But scenarios like this tend to quickly escalate into physical confrontations. Once the situation can no longer be defused by talking and the actual physical fighting begins a good strategy would be to use one of those guys as a shield (a bunching bag) between you and your girlfriend and the other guy.

Best part of this: deescalate and try to remove yourself from the situation. If they did attack, tactically it would be beneficial for one guy to go after the girlfriend because then you only have to deal with one attacker. However, when deescalating, it would be beneficial to keep both away from her because if one does get to her and starts doing whatever to her, then the deescalation is probably over and you'll be forced to action.

Love the video, I use something very similar with my girl. We have an understanding that if I recognise something and I have to react, regardless of what we have going on, she knows to listen and follow my instructions. She knows not to question or worry about me and she knows that whatever is going to happen is to ensure her safety whilst increasing my chances of success or recovery. Like you, it's less about the variables, it's more about the immediacy of the situation and having the piece of mind to have thought about 'what's possible'. I would imagine that you, like me, would happily take a beating or engage in combat if it meant that you're girl or other loved one were safe. Thanks for the videos, they're much appreciated.

Best advice: Plan beforehand. Tell her that if someone confronts you, she should stay behind you, hopefully 1 mt away from you to let you move in case a fight happens, and as soon as she sees the chance she should get the shoes off and run while you fight the two. Then you just move in a circular motion around them A LOT. The idea is so that they are always one behind eachother, not letting them go both at the same time. 80% of the work against a 2 man fight is legwork and movement. The other 20% is hitting. If you let them go both at once chances are you are probably done even though you have fighting experience. Can't really fight expecting you will drop them in one hit or two because that might not be the case.

Watching the beginning of the video made my heart pound because in the street and on the basketball court theres often a couple of short tempered people looking for a fight and they always call upon their friends and its so annoying and stressful. Great tips here! A very neglected topic in many people's training. I'm teaching my girlfriend situational awareness right now and I'm wondering how far behind me she should stand in such a situation. Too close like in this video and it impairs my mobility to fight, makes me easier to keep in one place, and she might get hit by something I deflect. Especially against 2 people. Too far and it's easy to get around me. How did you choose the spacing for this video?

I don't know. My wife and me had a situation like this, well, about 15 years ago now.... And the greatest difference and the most irritating thing was that she would not stay behind me whatever I tried, it was as much a struggle with her (on a psychological level) as with the guys (there were 2 as well). In the end we managed to get away but I wish she reacted like your girlfriend from the video. I remember all the same thoughts racing through my head, like she's not gonna outrun them etc.

Men are biologically proven to be stronger than the average women. Even the female powerlifters at my school lift half as much as the male powerlifters. Some women just can't defend themselves against two full grown men. And even if she could, only an asshole would sit back and watch while his girl fought off two attackers on her own. I lose in arm wrestles to my 6 year old sister, so if i was put in this situation and my boyfriend couldn't help, I'd be screwed

you need to teach your girlfriend how to fight or how to kick one in the balls. in this scenario you put your self more at risk by looking like a macho man. You cannot defend against a knife attack and you WILL like you said have to attack first. However, that is bad advice for everyone else that is untrained in the martial arts or fighting bud. Give some real tactics, not on how to get killed for being a macho man.

Great management of space, I liked the fact that you didn't fought at all, you managed to control and secure a scape path and avoid the corner. This is as useful as a fighting technique. Thanks for sharing! :)

Regina Freitag Most times things escalate badly when the woman tries get into the fight. Women are too scared and aggressive and it doesn't help men in any way. Just stay back and silent and run to a safe place whenever it's possible.

Nigel willis it all depends on how bloody you're willing to get. There was a girl in the town I grew up in El Salvador, that escaped being raped by ripping the guy's eyes out and kicking him in the throat when he went down on his knees. Viciousness + speed + taking an opening can be a deadly combo, no matter the weight difference. And that's not taking weapons into account.

Thanks for posting. Have to say though, in a situation like this though it can kick off in a split second. You've got to defend against 2 big men who might be carrying weapons. I'd act a lot quicker.

Good video, Nick, just found your channel and I like your stuff! I have a tip for people here tho... One time me and my girl were walking thru the neighborhood at night after going out all night and getting some food (she was pregnant at the time) and it was really late ... 2-3am in morn, I think. We hear a commotion near a neighbor's house and someone yelling "Hey, help me! This guy's tryin to rob me!" ... and we see a figure in the shadows. I had a gun on me, but she's wearing heels _and_ she's pregnant. So I turned to her to tell her what to do, but she _already_ knew from past experience: She pulled her shoes off, enabling her to run if need be. Handed her my knife and the keys, told her to get moving (she didn't want to leave me but I made her go) and then I pulled my weapon from the holster and took cover by a post and electrical box for a sec to cover her escape (till she was at a safe distance). That demonstrates my tip: _If your girl has heels on and it's likely she will need to run, get her to take em off_ while you try to give her enough time and cover to get her shoes off (some women's shoes are hard as hell to take off), and also give her the car/house keys and keep the aggressors at bay while she retreats to safety. Also, could tell the rest of the story if anyone wants to hear it -- there were shots fired, but thankfully no one died.

I like the way you "moved" from the open space to the doorway in the first scenario, so you sort of "lined-up" the two attackers, you can't fight two at a time, so it's better to take them 1 by 1 if possible/needed. Trying to be neutral to all the attackers, instead to only one of them. So funny to see so many principles you use are so related to Kenpo, only explained in different words. Keep up the good work.

Good video. Tough scenario, one hook punch from either guy could be a knock out and then they have a direct shot at her. In most cases with a determined attacker you are probably buying her time if nothing else. I trained my wife how to turn her keys into a weapon in between the fingers going to the face with these may stop the will to fight of an attacker...also the neck. Even a non clean shot and the dude will be bleeding. I think the preferable option would be to tell her to run for help while you prepare for a two on one defense. Thanks for doing this video.

Great tips. everyone says. "Oh, Its common sense dude!" well it aint when you totally forget at the last minute and everything's going by so fast. by time youre thinking, "Oh shit, wheres the exit, wheres security, wheres my girl/wife?" and you will instantly forget. and it doesnt have to be your girlfriend idiots. it can be your sister/cousin/mom/friend. i love how you explained where you dont what theyre gonna do because its completely random. so basically. 1. keep your package behind you 2 dont let either person out of your sight 3. find the exit and if possible avoid the fight and if not, confront them and end it quickly.

this i the kind of situation where i would ask myself "should i try to defuse it until one of them attack or should i kill both of them before they kill me?" of course it depend of if they look like playing or preying. you can't be sure if the threat is real or potential, but when you know the threat is real it's already too late. you're going to fight against two attackers while protecting someone (it can be your girlfriend, your kid, your little brother or a friend who can't fight), you have even less room for error than when you're only defending yourself. if it's not me alone, but someone i care for, who's life is one the line, i wouldn't allow myself to let any room for him getting hurt.

its always a good idea to get some knowledge of different scenarios and if anyone noticed both of those guys necks were open to strike at a good hit to the side of the neck will knock a person out and most people always have the whole front of there body open they always did when i had to deal with someone.
