The quickest, cheapest, and easiest way to give your patina that WOW factor without having to clear coat it. This also lasts longer than a linseed oil treatment.

In my opinion, if you are going to use this product, I would wash your vehicle with soap and water, then take some 3M or similar Scotchbrite pad with wax and grease remover Lightly go over the entire truck making sure to follow up with a clean rag after each panel is dry. Then apply this product.

Penatrol is mostly a solvent with a little linseed oil in it, so basically thinned linseed oil. I use it. As Rustn' Away says, it's like doing a budget clear coat.

it was originally made for woodwork finish, it actually penetrates metal, the boiled linseed oil shine juides that are out there will yellow heavily. Penatrol goes on nice with a clean rag and doesn't streak.

I tried this instead of boiled linseed oil. It works but… It goes on like an oil, kinda sticky but not too bad. What I didn’t expect was it dried like some sort of clear coat. Mineral spirits wouldn’t even take it off. I was looking for more of a matt finish be ended up with gloss. If you looking for a matt finish you might want to try boiled linseed oil mixed with paint thinner. This “Flood” will make old dull paint shine new. Another possible advantage: I don’t think this will cause issues with a future paint job like linseed oil will. This stuff is more like paint than oil but consult an expert if that’s a concern. One other thing, my truck has the original aluminum grill that I’ve tried and tried to buff to a high gloss shine with no luck but this stuff did the trick! It glowing now. Almost like chrome.

It holds up great. If the truck sits outside, I’d reapply every 2-3 months. If the truck is inside, 6 months is good. Also a big factor is weather/rain. While this does “absorb” in to the paint, a lot of rain/weather can break it down (same with Linseed and other stuff too).

I use boiled l8nseed oil and I thin it down with mineral spirits. I used this on my rusty 53 chevy COE. I watched a nother video. Basically wipe it on and rub it in and wipe it off. My truck isn't going to get painted, it was sticky for a few months where I didn't get it wiped off good enough. It's been on a few years now. And I'll do a recoat soon. My prep was to scrub my truck with comet, a powdered sink scrubbing powder for the kitchen. Anyway I scrubbed the truck, amd washed it and let it dry. Then wipe on and wipe off.

I live in TX and tried it for the first time ever. I used boiled linseed oil on a '59 f100 4x4. It lasted I'd say 4 or 5 months and I cut it with diesel. We use diesel as a surfactant on herbicides. It makes it stick. So I tried it with boiled linseed oil, we had a wet season in north texas this year so its wore off by now. Gonna try without cutting it/thinning it and use concentrated.
