These are some BEAUTIFUL push-ups!! I just recently discovered that I could actually do a floor push-up (and not with as bad form as I thought! Highly recommend filming oneself every once in a while to know both the worst and the best news!) after doing incline ones only for a while, and it's just the best feeling.

Oooh thanks for the yoga block cue! I seem to lose my core and lower body engagement at the bottom, so this sounds like a fix.

This is so helpful. I have been struggling to do pushups, using the wall or a table most of the time if not skip them altogether. I am bottom heavy, so my hips tend to drop before my shoulders do.

Pushups have always been a goal of mine! I've never been able to do one, and I think I would feel so strong if I was able to. Going to start slowly incorporating this into my routine.

@AlexZetoSings I had to focus on elevated pushups for quite a while, but getting those first couple floor ones is truly worth it! And Justina's advice is incredible! You've got this!!!

This video was so helpful! I can do a full push-up but after about 3 of them my form goes to shit LOL. Going to try Level 2 when that happens. Hope you are enjoying your vacation!

I've wondered for a while why the recommendation is to get the hands closer to the body and the arms angled more like 45° or so instead of 90. Years ago, I got into push-ups at the same time that I got into weight training, so it was just natural for me to treat it as a variation of the bench press, and I never had elbow or shoulder problems while doing it that way.

I can’t remember if I said it in the video so I’ll say it here too! But it’s for two reasons: 1) it’s considered a little safer on the shoulder (GH) joint and 2) it actually mimics the pattern of your pec fibers (more diagonal) than going straight out to 90 degrees 😊

Oooh I really struggle with push-ups - one thing I really struggle with is depth, especially. Thanks for this video, I think I'm going to scale my push-ups a bit, and focus more on my shoulder mobility

I used to be able to do 10 push-ups from the floor in a row but now I’m down to like 2 or 3… lol but I recently got the reebok bench so I’m going to practice incline push-ups on that. I tried it a few times already and it’s working great for me!

Thank you so much for this. The older video you have was helpful too because I didn't know what position to have my arms. Even at my strongest and healthiest I could never do a pushup. So it's a great goal. 😊

If I could only do one exercise forever, I think it would be push ups. I’ve been working hard on them and finally can do 10 from the floor. It’s now fun to try the different variations. 👍🏻💕

I struggle so much with push ups! I'm stuck at the incline/ eccentric level. I can go down and up when at an incline, but can't get back up without dropping my knees when doing them on the floor. BTW, the purply pink color you are wearing in the talking part of this video looks fabulous on you!

Both my right shoulder AND my right wrist (though it's not exactly the wrist...it's something else weird like a tendon or part of the palm) have been dodgy for a while. So when I'd do pushups I'd get this weird sense of anxiety and dread in my chest and stomach that would interfere with my ability to do them, even when I put myself in the most non-injurious, advantageous position possible. It's only with gradually rehabbing my shoulder and wrist/palm that I feel like I'm connecting my brain and body better, in such a way that they don't make my stomach twist in dread as much. Even though they're still hard :P

I hated push ups because in middle school gym class we were graded on what we could do rather than how hard we worked so I got a D on the push up test (32 push ups was an A). Maybe I'll let go of that baggage and give them a try again. Enjoy your vacation!
