Very helpful! I’ve been staring at that screen on & off for a year trying to figure out how to remove that screen. I watch this video & in 30-seconds it’s off. My fan looks brand new now. Thank you for posting this!

Thank you! I have this fan in my kitchen and a bathroom. I couldn't get past those latches. So... my fans are very dirty. The one in the kitchen is making a light scratching sound, but it doesn't seem like the fan is dragging. Any idea what that may be. Sadly, I'm hoping it's just the dust. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier than this Diane. I'm happy this video was helpful to you, a lot of people including me a while back didn't know how to remove the screen. That's why I made the video. What I would do is clean everything really well and then move the fan by hand to see if the sound goes away, which it should. Good luck and I hope you reply back on how it goes. www.youtube.com/@thetraveltrailerguy/videos

You do know that you can use an Allen wrench and remove those fan blades, don't you? You use a 3/32 Allen wrench and it fits right into the metal hub that protrudes down the center of the fanblades. You'll see a little hole on the side of the metalthat protrudes down. Put the Allen wrench in the hole and turn it for the fanblades to be able to be pulled down. Then you can take them into the kitchen sink and clean them so much easier than spraying stuff into the air that falls back into your face while you try to wipe it with the paper towel.

Michael, I just installed the same simple fan, 4 speed manual open/close. Have any issues with it? I see some are having issues with it shutting down if the voltage goes to high. But most of them are the auto and remote control. I like the fan, had it open in a 2” downpour and nothing splashed in.

We've had it 7 years and it is used pretty much everyday we camp and we camp around 100+ days a year. Yeah I love that you can use it while raining and you have no leaks :) and it moves air really good. If you installed the whole fan assembly make sure you seal the clip areas outside really good or you will get rain infiltration in the future, watch this video - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r9lhmpqKxsmWm6c.html kzfaq.infovideos

Glad to hear you haven’t had any issues. The one I got has the built in rain hood, so there was nothing else to attach. Really clean simple install. If I ever have a voltage issue with the control board I’m going to install a pwm speed control to bypass the push button step switch. I actually have one on order, hope I didn’t jump the gun but it was only $18. Now you have me looking at putting dimmer switch over bed and sofa. I have to stop watching your videos 😁

What model fan do you have? The one in the video is a Maxx Air. Fantastic Fans don't have tabs like the Maxx Air Fan. So the Fantastic Fan screen needs to be pried off being careful to not break it. The fan I am installing in this video is a Fantastic Fan - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g9-cZMenrbGbn58.htmlsi=XmHZG3t-UmX-UjRK&t=518

That would be a really big job to take it all down to clean. You can get the fan very clean like this without taking it all down - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bZeqeNZkx5qreac.htmlsi=_KyvP-h1Rz9N5JJA&t=143

You just use a 3/32 Allen wrench and unscrew the screw that is holding the fans in place. If you look at the fans you see the metal protrusion down the center. Look to the side around it and you'll see a hole and that's where you insert the Allen wrench. Just loosen enough so that you can pull the fan blades down. You do not need to remove the little set screw.
