Hi Wes, why would I want to add my website name into an anchor text when users are already on my website? For example, on week/month 2 you said I should use naked URL and branded anchors that include my website address, but my users are already on my website.

Guest blogging, being a guest on podcasts, etc. Many ways to do it, but all time consuming, which is why I personally prefer to outsource this aspect.

You're never stuck, but you probably have some work to do to rank... both onpage (adding more keywords, etc) and building the right backlinks to the page. Cheers!

Honestly, that's not how I recommend handling SEO, and not even sure how that could work... go for a handful of very closely related keywords per page instead. Cheers!

google adword is a good indication, when a keyword is selling for certain $ per hit, then it must be relevant to business lol

I think, going forward from 2019, we are going to see penalties for low quality promotional strategies, this is signaled by Google constantly. The idea of your web site, and overall online identity behaving like a 'Media Company' is going to be producing the strongest results, producing informative articles and videos, being active on social media as an authority, not just proclaiming yourself as being 'the best' but actually performing, this is why running a 'Blog' is so powerful, it is not just about lame mass produced articles but actually good quality media. This produces the strongest backlinks, because other sites will want to showcase your content. Artificial back-links will be penalized more and more.

This is useful but I feel like the entire backlink thing is a bit of a side quest - surely it’s a waste of time once you’re down to this level of machine-optimised tweaking

Hey Jessica, no you do need both. Optimizing your site itself will only get you so far. Backlinks are still a really importnat ranking signal. Cheers!
