How to Recover Deleted Facebook Messages

There is a simple way to recover deleted Facebook Messages. All you need to do to recover Messenger chats or Facebook messages you accidentally deleted is to request your data from Facebook.
The Facebook app actually gives you all your Facebook data if you request it in the Facebook settings. You can choose just messages or anything else you've done on Facebook. You can also select a date range for the request.
Once your request is complete, you'll get a Zip file that you can unzip and open with the Files app on your iPhone or Android.
There, you will see all messages and you can recover any messages you sent or received on Facebook or Facebook Messenger.

this does not recover deleted msgs only msgs that were not deleted.

Thank's for this. I already retrieved all the messages but there are deleted/ unsent messages from the retrieved files. Is there any way to read those deleted messages? Hope you notice this message. Only then can i know that my partner is cheating on me.

I would like to recover some videos from my newborn baby that I shared with my family by Facebook messenger. I moved and had no internet during 3 months and forgot my passwords I have no access to my previous e-mail and dropbox. This is very unfortunate and I wish I can recover those videos from Facebook messenger at least. Can I recover also videos or this only works with messages. Please let me know. Thank you!

It takes a while for them to send you this. I just edited out the part where I waited. But it took a little time and it said pending for mine too.

@@Howfinity Do you remember how long this process took? Sounds like FB employees may have to receive the request and process it for you. Mine was from a year ago and only one day of messages but it's saying pending. Will it be pending in the background for days as you use the app?
