How To Refill And Purge A Hydraulic Floor Jack

I will show you how to bleed the air out of your jack before it’s first use. I will also show how to add oil to your jack. This video was performed on a 2.5 ton Torin Big Red Jack.
When you first buy a jack you will need to bleed the jack of any air. Manufactures may not put enough oil in so a top up of oil is often necessary. Purging a floor jack of air can help fix a jack that won’t lift or won’t stay lifted

thank you... the manual that I found didn't really show clearly were the fill was. This helped. Husband was the mechanic and he took care of these things... didn;t bother to train me before he died...so videos like this have been helping me take care of myself.

Great video, I was wondering how to fill up my jack after a leak, I seen many videos but different fill up hole and never gues that I have to remove the plug just pulling, many videos said that it was turning with a screw and others said fill up in the level hole.

Hi there, I have just stumbled upon this video as I myself have bought a floro hydraulic jack but couldn't figure out how to make it work. I am just wondering if most - if not all - floor mounted jacks work the same way, or are there variations between model and brand? Most importantly, I wonder if all floor mounted jacks already came pre-filled with oil, or will I be required to purchase a separate bottle of oil to fill it up? Thanks in advance from Malaysia ✌🏻

Hello. All floor jacks will use the same method as demonstrated in this video. Different brands will still be the same process. Every floor jack I’ve owned comes prefilled but I suggest to buy a small bottle of Jack oil because they are not usually full enough. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

So when you pull the fill plug, you will look inside and you can see the piston in the hole. There should be oil slightly covering that piston. If you notice it’s low upon opening, then immediately.
