I find that some pfd's make remounting very difficult. I find remounting much easier, if I take off my pfd, and put it on once sitting comfortably

Yes pfd’s are often in the way.

I am still rebuilding my upper body strength (why I got a surf ski) and do not do well lifting myself up prior to dropping my butt into the well. I just saw Oscar Chalupsky recommending to stay mostly flat and low across the well and rolling the butt into the well while at the same time coming upright. Would that work, too?

Great demo, by the way! Thx. The part about pulling the boat into me was excellent, and I was delighted to hear the suggestion to get the PFD out of the way. It is an encumbrance. Today I even pulled off my leg leash mid-swim. I also wonder if a paddle leash would let me forget the paddle until I got in,but then I would prolly fall out trying to reel in my paddle.

Don't lift your body up - that's a very stressful and destabilizing movement for most people. Just roll your bum into the seat. That's easy.

Terrible use of the pdf, would hate to be in the water with it coming off my torso and impeding my ability to swim properly...
