Plant growth mass is so important in order to prevent algae growth. I made the mistake of cutting back too much plant growth and green hair algae went wild on all my plants and substrate. Only trim slightly and do it on alternate days. A balanced aquarium is super important especially when dosing with fertilizer that has phosphorus (ADA doesn't have this). Great video as always.

I like algae to a certain extent. They are part of the ecosytem. Because they serve as food for some of my fishes. You just need to control when they grow.

How can i get rid Brown Algae or Diatom?? Nice video and keep up with great videos.
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 3 жыл бұрын
Official WASABI Moderator: Dear Bruno, Brown Algae or Diatom can only be removed by manual syphoning, daily water changes for the first week, then every few days after that along with good filtration.

crack up co2, less nitrate vs phosphorus, heavy on potassium + good amount of trace. you should have surface skimmer helps with the gaseous exchange.
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 3 жыл бұрын
Official WASABI Moderator: Dear Jimmy, a few things you can do. Check your filtration as it could mean your filter isn't doing a good job. Look at your CO2, algae on plants could be CO2 related if it's more or less than 30ppm. If it's black, sorry to say that you've got BBA. Remove as much algae as possible, then do 50% water change everyday until your algae goes away.
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 3 жыл бұрын
@@trhuyanh1996 Official WASABI Moderator: Chào Anh Huy. Yes, that's good advice, if you want to go basic, potassium and iron, control the CO2 to 30ppm, and ensure lighting is only on whilst CO2 is at it's peak at 30ppm. Surface agitation when lights are off with an air stone is a great way to remove CO2 (and protein slicks) when plants are not photosynthesizing.

Hi, how to get rid of green spot algea from the glass? I increased the dosage of phosphate into the aquarium as per the info got on the internet but still no success. I have algea eating crew too. Please suggest.
@raizinhell1
@raizinhell1 3 жыл бұрын
once it forms it wont go away on its own. after you remove it you have to keep up phosphates and do at least 40% water changes twice weekly then you will stay on top of it.

@@raizinhell1 what is the concentration of phosphate to be maintained?
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 3 жыл бұрын
Official WASABI Moderator: Dear Chetan, usually, green spot algae only appears if the phosphate content is too low or too high. Clean the spot algae before doing 50 to 80% water changes everyday until it is gone. Then look into your feralization. If you are using an all-in-one liquid fertilizer, they usually have lots of phosphates on the assumption that you have no phosphate in your tank. You generally don't need to dose phosphate at all. All aquariums have phosphate from plant decay, dying algae, fish food. So that actually satisfies 0.1ppm for phosphate. If you have 0.5 ppm or more, then this is your issue.

@@NORIaquaCh hi thanks for the reply, I use estimated index method using dry salts. I have phosphate solution which I am dosing to maintain 0.1 ppm.
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 3 жыл бұрын
@@chetanprabhu2172 Official WASABI Moderator: Try omitting phosphate dosing entirely, and then try measure your phosphate after a day. If it's not enough, then resume dosing to 0.1ppm :)
