How to REMOVE and INSTALL a K03 Turbo of an Audi A4 B8 2.0T

For this video I will be removing and installing the turbo on my Audi A4 and decided to make a full in depth video so that you can also know how to do it if you are panning to do it yourself! I am having some turbo issues even after I sent it in. So because I still have warranty I am going to send the Turbo back and let them have another look at it :)

Great video, you guys are the only ones that did not seem to have a hard time with that bottom bolt between the turbo and cat.

Lol I think having the right tools is the key 🤣 I nearly quit te job whem I was doing it on my own a few months before I did this video lol 🤣

Great video Sabertooth..can you put the copper compound on the exhaust manifold bolts as well or would that be pointless because of the heat

Thank you so much 🥳 and between me and you... I don't feel that it even works so good with the exhaust 🤐🤣 I changed the downpipe on my car and those bolts was so tight again 🤦‍♂️🤣 it took me to go buy my own tools to break those bolts loose 🤕🤣 But I mean everyone says it works so who am I to say it doesn't 🤣

Hey man... To be honnest, it has been a long time since I did the video 😭 it was also over several days so I really can't remember, I am sorry... I should have done the list when I made the video 😭 But I am pretty sure I did mention most of the tools in the video

Hello, my question is why does the turbo blow back when I accelerate and release the accelerator? install new it is not original

Hey man... All turbo's does that 🙌 it is a way to release the air pressure in the boost system. The cool thing about it is you can add a Blow off Valve and then it makes it louder and can even change it completely. For example mine Flutters... It makes thaf Stu Stu Stu sound 🥳

Should i upgrade to the k04 turbo? I would just need the upgraded intercooler. I already have the upgraded cold air intake

Most definitely! I was in a S3 2008 model with a K04 Hybrid turbo and that thing was strong! Sheesh... Even I am thinking of going K04 Hybrid 🤣

The process is very similar I believe. Basically if you removed a turbo once you can Basically remove all the low bolted turbos haha. There might be a small change here and there but should be similar :) Just take note that you will have very little space to work in, that will be your biggest challenge, your engine is at the back against the firewall.

I have a Audi 2.0 a4 what will it do adding this? Adds more HP?

So your 2.0 doesn't have a turbo? Your question seems very simple but there is a lot that goes with it 🤣 in short, it will add a lot of HP and a lot of NM. You will basically love your car after installing a turbo 🤞🙌

Yes you can upgrade it. They call it a Hybrid turbo. So basically what they do is they use your turbo and change the core on the inside. It will be stronger and have a higher air flow capacity. Its usually the cheapest as you dont have to change anything, you just bolt it back on. Some of the other turbo's needs some modification and it makes the entire process so much more difficult.

I never bought a new turbo, I took it in for Reconditioning, and it came back looking new :) So basically they fixed my old turbo to be new again

In what country do you live? I live in South Africa so maybe our companies are not the same

I am from South Africa 😭 so you can't use my shop sadly 😭 but what you can do is maybe ask on your Audi group on facebook where in America do they reccomend 😊

My turbocharger is overheating and replacing the new turbo will fix the problem?

What makes you think your turbo is overheating? A turbo can have a few things that can cause it to overheat: # running lean # to much boost (software altered) # poor water/anti-freeze in the cooling system. (if turbo is water cooled) # overboosting above requested value Those are a few things that pops up

Do you have to drain the water ?

You don't have to but when you remove the turbo you will have water running out of the block/pipes that ia connected to the turbo. This will just be super messy, to drain it and replace it with fresh water and antifreeze is a good practice anyway :)

Is it possible to replace the oil return line, without removing the turbo ?

Sorry for getting to your comment now, YT never showed it to me for what ever reason lol. Yes it is possible :) make sure you get those new "Crusher Washer's" for the new return line :) Also it wont hurt to change the oil afterwards :)
