OMG truly one of the coolest "hacks" I've ever seen! Just spilled half a bottle of acetone nail polish remover on my wooden table top and thought we'd have to get the whole thing sanded and refinished $$$$! YOU SAVED ME! Now if I can just save myself from my carelessness...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Wow, worked like a charm. My house owner is visiting home tomorrow and as part of last minute cleaning, we used nail polish remover to clean the nailpolish that my baby spilled over the wooden table. While the nail polish did vanish, it puked ugly white remains over the wood. Tried everything from Vaseline-Baking soda combo to wooden cream without any luck. And then to my luck discovered this beautiful trick. God bless you brother!

The hot steam is the key so anything that can mimic that will give you better results

Would it work with acetone?

I’m not 100% sure. There usually is acetone in nail polish remover but because the chemistries are different, I’m not sure what you would expect. If you’re desperate, you could always give it a shot!

You just pulled paint off? Or is it stain? Whatever it is, you can always bring a sample of it to Lowe's or Home Depot and they can help you find a match to touch up the spot.
