WARNING: The rough side of the sponge will leave scratches and swirl marks on your cars finish. You can’t tell by this video because the car is white. If it’s a dark color you’ll be able to see it. Use something like a micro fiber cloth if you try this method or the soft side of the sponge only.

Toothpaste has a very fine abrasive in it thats why some companies call it tooth polish, It’s very similar to car polish but tastes much better! The only thing I wouldn’t use is a dish sponge, a rag works just as good or a polishing sponge.

Just don’t forget to polish the car afterwards with wax or any polishing compound of your choice to get the shine back and protect it. Toothpaste is just a super fine cutting compound that just works 👍🏻

I used a normal sponge with toothpaste on black plastic bike fairings and i had massive scratches, after about 2 mins with toothpaste the scratches came straight out 👍🏼

Use the foam side of the scrubbing pad. Afterwards, use wax to bring back the glossness of the paint.

You used colgate and scrotch bite to basically scrub the paint off that part. It might look like the scrathes are gone but the finish of that part has also gone forever.

i use carnuba wax. all those scratches (deep or not) dissapeared plus the paint becomes shiny and smooth and it last long.

thinner works better and most of the time the scuffs are finger paint or nail particles. never use abrasive pad unless you plan to paint after

STUPIDEST IDEA EVER why not just buy rubbing compound it's not expensive and won't leave a matte finish/damage your clear coat rubbing the ruff side of that sponge will scratch the hell out of your clear coat

I have an extremely expensive bicycle that I keep very clean etc. When I recently had it scratched I was so mad because some kid purposely did it. I watched this video to see if there was a way to rid the scratched and this actually worked! My paint is also white and I didnt use the rough green side they showed in this video . I used the soft yellow side and also a paper towel. the scratches are gone.

DELUSION!!! A dealership salesman told me most vehicles manufacturers uses white primer on all their vehicles and in this demo your car is painted white, so it just appears the scratches were removed when using toothpaste, Try this method again on a darker painted vehicle and prove your point.

The plastic bumper area near the wheel is scraped, due to scraping with another car. The paint is flaked off, I can see black color underneath just like in video. The scratches area is 2 inches long, about 3 mm wide. There is no metal or plastic cut thankfully. Do you think toothpaste will work? I am worried rental company will charge hell

You get the same effect with the car polish or vax, this works only because the roothpaste you are using is very soft as a polish. But yea it works on any color.

the clearcoat above the paint layer gets destroyed by the Scotchbrite pad.....the toothpaste may seem gentle......but you will eventually start wearing down the paint itself.

Omg this video safe my life 😂😂😳😳 i decide to give it a try, and guess what everyone it worked my car is black and it remove all the scratches obviously not the ones that where deep that remove the paint but the ones that where over the pain it did.... definitely give it a try you won’t loose anything besides time 😁😁😁

And the kids could not find toothpaste so they all have cavity s...try scratch remover polish save the toothpaste ..

I think that this only is applicable to a metal surface. I have a scratched plastic bumper and it is blue. I think that the rinforced plastic bumper is actually harder to repair. Thanks

No, thanks for the suggestion. The idea that you gave did not result and is only spoiling the painting of the car. The scrub removes the gloss from the paint that is dull.
