I use this trick all the time as well. Sometimes instead of just using the small flat head to turn the security screw I use it to break the protrusion off by prying on it. Then I can use regular Allen or Torx bits.

put plastic in the inside or glue, it's more a temp thing since all you need to do is heat it up to then remove the plastic or glue. but if you do it with all of the Screws, the process takes a long time and it might be enough time for someone to get caught. I haven't done this but its an idea I had. going to run some experiments.

I intentionally did not show a plate for that reason. I showed a few consumer goods that I personally own. Also, this will not stop a plate thief. You can buy a 30 piece set of security bits for five dollars. If someone has intent on stealing something, a security screw is not going to stop them.

It depends on the screw size. You will need to experiment to find a size that wedges into it.

I do have security screw tools, but this method works in a pinch if someone needs to remove a couple screws and does not have the special tools. Zero chewed up tools in this video 🤷‍♂️.

Ok, let's split some hairs. The hex/Allen key looks like it is in poor shape . The fasteners also look like crap. Did it happen in the video? Probably not. But the visual evidence shows that someone has been doing something with your tools/ fasteners that they shouldn't have.
