My only problem was disconnecting the fog light connector. It isn't clear how to release the latch and I couldn't tell just looking at it. Adding that tip would be great. I did figure it out after trying several options.

Says use a 8mm Socket for lower air dam but uses a 5/16 socket.. yes I know basically the same but caught that in the video

Because of the tolerances in the sockets vs nuts and bolts, sometimes you just use whatever fits best... 8mm would be 5.03937 / 16ths... And 5/16" would be 7.9375mm... The 5/16" would have probably provided a better fit... As an engineer, I can work with US customary units, metric, or even British Imperial units (on occasion)... I don't care which one is used, but it sure would be nice if ALL the fasteners on a vehicle used the SAME measurement system... At least we don't still have to keep a set of Whitworth system tools around...

The plastic clips for the shroud on the 2019 Sahara JL are extremely recessed. Can't use a trim removal tool like you show. Must be some specialized tool...

A metal trim removal tool with a 120° bend gets the job done.

Do you need any type of wiring extension to reconnect the fog lights if the aftermarket bumper has them located closer to the center of the bumper ?

Hi, how is your Wrangler JK so far? I am sure you found out that you have to extend the cables to the factory fog lights by now. I hope you are enjoying your JK both on the road and off the road. I have had a Wrangler TJ since it was new in 1996. It is a 1997 Wrangler Sport. I love the old fossil. I hope you have your JK 26 years from now as well. Happy Jeeping to you.

I need to replace the plastic front bumper only. Bumped a concrete mixer and punched a hole in the bumper. Can the plastic bumper be removed without taking the metal frame off just behind the plastic bumper? My son in-law will be doing the work.

How do you remove the plastic panel on the back side of the bumper to gain access to the fog lights, etc.? I need to install a rock shield for towing my jeep and it calls for bolting I hooks under the bumper so I need to have interior access.

Same thing with the rear seats on my 2-door JL... If you don't need to carry more than one extra person ever, you end up with a 2-seater with a lot of cargo area even on the 2-door model... I ended up removing those two air dam inserts between the bumper and the fenders / rear covers for the fog lights when I was trying out a set of 275-65-20 tires and rims from my previous Ram 1500... With the stock suspension, it just barely rubbed at maximum wheel lock...

It is a travesty that Jeep is now installing plastic bumpers on Wranglers. TJ Wranglers, YJ Wranglers, CJs, and MBs never came with crap plastic bumpers. When did cheap looking plastic bumpers become fashionable? I hate them on cars, pickup trucks, and sadly Wranglers from 2007 forward. Cheap plastic bumpers that are charged for as if they were stainless steel are not fashionable, do not function well for a Jeeps Wrangler, or any other vehicle, and look like crap. We need stainless bumpers.

They are cheaper to make, lighter, and the shape can more easily be made aerodynamic, so they might add a fractional amount to the gas mileage of the vehicle... There's also the government regulation that requires the vehicles to be able to survive a 5 mph impact without any damage... They probably figure that anyone who is going to be using the Jeep for anything other than mall crawling / commuting is going to be wanting an aftermarket heavy duty steel bumper for a winch... It would be nice if you could order a vehicle WITHOUT a bumper and get it discounted as much as the parts department would charge you for a replacement plastic bumper...

@@CurmudgeonExtraordinaire A Jeep without tyres, grill, bumpers, would be great to order. You are right. A mall crawler needs no metal grill. My old TJ goes through so much that I paint the grill every year. It is a good thing it is not plastic. I bought a single hoop, large, stainless steel bumper. It does the job okay. But I wonder if I should have got a big stinger instead. It is just that black powder coat lasts such a short time here. It would rust to bits in about three years. There is not such thing as a stainless stinger.

@@indridcold8433 -- On the XJ that I had quite a few years ago, I put an aftermarket winch bumper that was powder coated... It would get rock chips and then rust would bubble under it... If I had no experience with working with powder coating at the time and even now, I only use it for coating cast bullets for lubrication purposes... These days though, I would probably sanding off the damaged spot until I got to bare metal and then heating it up to 400F and dusting it with the powder... It's not the "professional" way, but it might work since I don't have an oven large enough for an entire bumper...

@@CurmudgeonExtraordinaire This is why I have been sticking with stainless steel. I live in a very problematic area when it comes to rust. I have to paint the frame of my aging TJ every year. Gravel roads, salty freeways, lots of overgrown trees lining the gravel roads, brutal winters, springs, and late autumns, all do tremendous damage to vehicles here. Unfortunately, a stainless steel winch bumper with a large stinger would probably cost as much as my aging TJ. This is why they are not made. Nobody could buy them.

@@indridcold8433 -- Your description of the area makes it sound like a good reason to NOT live there... :) Around here, we don't have to worry about salt unless we drive down along the beach... Summers are 10+ months long though... It's not *quite* hot enough to do powder coating by just leaving the vehicle out in the sun, but it's close... :) Summers are the price we pay for having no state income tax, gas prices that are better than most states, and a state that supports our 2nd Amendment rights... Well, there's the occasional hurricane in the price tag... :)
