I recently discovered your channel and am enjoying your videos. A couple of weeks ago I bought a vintage 70s chest of drawers. It stinks! Really badly of musty mould. There's no visible mould on it. I've cleaned it with white vinegar, put bicarbonate of soda in each drawer and dryer sheets....but it still smells horrible. I don't want to dispose of it as its a beautiful piece of furniture. Any suggestions on how I can get rid of the stench? Thank you! 😊

Hey, thanks so much for watching! So one thing I might try is something called CLO2 (chlorine dioxide) it works great at eliminating odors. Something like this - amzn.to/3QVCvpu Just make sure todo it in a ventilated area and follow the instructions. 🙂 The other option if the smell persists after this (maybe not your favorite option) would be an odor sealing / locking paint.

Oddly enough if you put a few bananas in a plastic bag and leave it there for a while the smell will be absorbed. It works on old musty purses.

@@hot.mess.monster954. I had a chest that I got from a neighbor and i had the same problem with the smell. I left it outside on my back porch for a year then stripped it and repainted it. No more smell. It’s been in my guest bedroom for many years!

Obviously a newbie video maker. Never shake something you want people to be able to read and see clearly!!! Put yourself in the seat of your viewers . If you don’t care or don’t want to make that effort then stop making videos.
