How to rename your Amazon smart plugs using Alexa App or your Echo dot

Steps using the Alexa App:
so from the Alexa app tap the menu icon on the top left side of the screen
And choose settings
Tap on device settings.
As you can see, my plug is named "First Plug"
To change it's name tap on it.
Then tap on wheel icon on the top right side of the screen.
Now tap "edit name"
and change the name let's say "kitchen plug".
Tap anywhere in the screen and the name will be changed.

Is this for the Switchmate system? Both my switches do not have a name at all and as such I can not pair with them. They are sending an address (I checked using a bluetooth finder app) but there is no name assigned to the address.

My alexa app has no menu at the top left of the screen. The three bars at the top aren't there.
