My pump was in horrible shape, lots of rust and had to use penetrating oil to free up the washers and nut on the shaft, definitely not clean like the one in the video. The key that was on the shaft fell somewhere and couldnt find it after pulling the dang thing apart with a puller because it was so full of rust and corrosion. Headed in the buy 5/32” key stock tomorrow Of course nowhere can I find dimensions of the key. But I will make it work. This was a great video to get me started. Thanks!

Rebuild videos should always show an actual used pump. That way people can see the issues they will run into and then judge to pay someone else or buy new.

I have a 1/2hp Everbilt that I cannot get the volute off. Any suggestions? It doesn't just fall off like yours did.

Very professional and very valuable information due to the parts being named correctly. I’ve been a plumber for 27 years and it kills my when people call the materials and tools some red neck BS. I saw a business called “Hey Bo, remodelin and constructin". I mean come on, me personally I’d be quite reluctant if “Hey Bo constructin" showed up at business or home and the guy is wearing shorts, untied work boots with either sport socks or none at all with last nights beer stained wife beater drinking a Mountain Dew or a “spit bottle” since the guy has half a can of chaw stuffed in his mouth. Go “Hey Bo” !

Thank You this is a nice video. But my experience has been that the bearing behind the impeller goes bad. I wish they would have taken the pump further down and shown the bearing replacement. I am in the middle of replacing the bearing and I should have video taped the disassembly because like an idiot I forgot exactly how the seals go back together behind the pump housing itself. My Bad... lol . It's hard to find a schematic showing those seals.

I have a Everbuilt brand jet shallow water pump model J100A3 and I can't find any replacement for this model ,the piece that I want looks the same as the one you show, this strange seal with a spring 2:39

Useful video to understand the sequence. Useless video for rebuilding a rusty old pump where each piece puts up a fight to be removed and all surfaces need to be carefully cleaned.

bonze2001 Gud day I have a Bolzano 1/2 Hp jetpump And I want to replace leaky mechanical seal.can u give me an idea about the type of mechanical seal.because when I disassembled it I found out that only a piece of rubber seal and a ceramic type ring.I dont have any spare to compare with.tnx
