Power Supply Board Replacement: Dead LCD TV That Won't Turn On No Power No LED Light - Sony Bravia KDL40V4000
In this video I will show u how to diagnose and repair a dead tv based on these specific symptoms for any tv.
Warning: This type of repair does come with risk of electrocution and damage to your device or other related electronics. Therefore consult a professional if in doubt, or do at your own risk.
This is the 40 inch LCD TV Sony Bravia Model KDL-40V4000
There is no power when turned on, no led lights whatsoever, no backlight (back light).
Tools you will need are a electrical screwdriver and an auto ranging digital multimeter, optional tools are a pair and long nose pliers, and some masking tape.
Power Supply Board reference part number - 1-876-467-11.

Please note for this type of repair, ie no power and no led lights, until you actually replace the faulty power supply there is no telling what else could be wrong with the TV. Once you repair the power supply then you can investigate further depending on the numerous other symptoms that may appear.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge concerning power supply boards. My TV wasn't getting any power, so I went to Best Buy and bought another one. Just for the heck of it I did some diagnostic testing on the power supply board on the broken TV and found the main fuse was blown. I ordered a power supply board from ebay for $23.99 free shipping and installed it and the TV works great, and years of dust has been cleaned up. It all worked out great because we needed another nice Flat screen TV for are garage. People may say that the Sceptre TV's are junk, but it lasted me over 10 years running all the time. I suggest that if you have some technical knowledge and have a TV that is broke to try and do some troubleshooting using youtube to guide you as to what to look for and test, because you may just find the problem for penny on the dollars compared to taking it to a TV repair shop. Hi, thank you for the great video! Similar to you I have no DC voltage coming out of the PSU on my Sony 40S400A. However, in your video you mention that the replacement PSU needs to have a matching circuit board number (ie. 1-876-467-13). What about the part number (ie. A1568130A), does that need to match also for compatibility??

hi there. i have a sony kdl-40v4000 purchased in 2007. The sound stopped working 2 days ago after turning the tv on. The only thing i did differen't before this error is using a chrome cast in the side hdmi slot. i have tried other means of sound including hdmi to external audio system and headphones but with no luck. i have tried a factory reset as per the options in the tv menu and have explored many settings. Have you any advice or ideas why this error of no sound has occurred? thanks in advance.

Great video. I learned a few things. I have 117v(U.S) with power cord and 3.3v on DC power board. Red led light comes on(standby mode) but when I hit power button, green LED shows then goes out. What else can I check? If you have a video please reply with link. Thanks!

Hey nice video man will defenetly try this when my TV dies :D and btw I have a PC Monitor that still works but theres no light anymore (black screen), but I can see the screen working when i use my flashlight on it. Any idea what i could try to repair it? :)

Attempting fix on a Sony Bravia KDL-32U2000. AC multimeter reads 240V AC on mains lead into power board, but nothing (red+ into 5V, black- into ground screw) from 'CN6200 SECONDARY' port on 5v DC out of power board. Static GREEN light & four flashing red lights (RESEARCH:: "...can be LD board or main logic board; check inverter board wires for arcing to ground..."). Can you advise on a power board fix, or forward route. Regards

hi i have a sony klv 40bx450 LCD TV. when we turn it on the orange light gets blink and then green then it gets turn off, can you suggest whether its an error in logic board or power board, appriciate your help!!

First I have a Samsung UN55H6203AFXZA (Version US0o1) I was watching the set a few weeks ago when it suddenly went off and would not power back on. This TV has a standby light and it would not light. I ordered a complete repair kit, switched out all the boards and still it would not power on. Writing in I was instructed to return the whole kit which I did. When Shop JImmy received the kit they informed me that all the boards were tested and passed. In the interim I put the TV from my kitchen into the room and in the same place that the Samsung had resided, (after all it is the NBA & NHL playoffs!). Today I came home and now this TV won't power on and it's standby light is no longer lit. When I went into my bedroom the digital clock on my bedside table was blinking so I know that there must have been a power outage while I was away. I figure that this must have been what happened to the Samsung, (i.e. there was a power outage and when power was restored it must have surged through to the television. Originally I thought since it was plugged into a surge protector that this was not the case and I blamed the TV. Now I think this is not a surge protector, rather it is simply a power strip and a cheap one at that. My question then is, if my supposition is correct, might only the power board be affected on both TV's or might this problem have compromised more than one board in the TV and even effected the LED's? I have a good multi-meter but am not sure I'm running tests correctly. The plug on this board that runs a cable to main board are labeled to test at 13v, I'm getting readings of 1.5v. NOTE: When I bought the "Complete Repair Kit" for the set and changed out all the boards the set was still dead, no standby light, no power... Should I order another power board only, the whole kit, or head to Best Buy for a new set.? The Samsung is 2yrs old... The 2nd set that failed is a Polaroid FLM-3234B Model 3200. Please advise...

Hello there, I have a problem with my TV Sony bravia Kdl-46hx803, TV don't turn on, the red light it's flushing 5 times and stop few seconds and again it's flushing, when I turn it on green light go on for about 5 second and again the red light it's flushing, I have a doubt if it's a problem with t-con or with power supply? So I have a broken screen on a brand new Sony Bravia I've reached out to sony and other places they say that Sony doesn't make replacement screens.. I'm wondering what I should do now.. it's a super nice TV and I would hate to have to throw it away just because of the screen.. anybody have any advice??

I have a sony bravia 2015 xbr 55x810c has no power at all ..i did the first check with the power cable and I'm getting 119v do you think it's the cable and what causes the cable to be like that?

If your test is correct then yes it could be the cable? Cables can degrade, or inside wiring can become loose, or it could even be your main plug. Sounds dodgy and you probable should get it check by a suitable qualified person.
