In addition to the disc filter mentioned by others, this video also doesn't show replacement of anothet gasket on the lower round housing. My 2 filter kits came with two gaskets so they both can be replaced. Nevertheless your videos are always an enormous help so thanks for helping us save tons of money bud! Can't thank you enough.

There's a small white disc filter that is located down under the fuel filter Assembly that needs to be replaced at the same time that you replace the element fuel filter. Your going to need long needle nose pliers to grab it and remove it with. Typically this smaller disc filter is usually more dirty and filthy than the upper paper fuel filter is!

Yes I am Aware of the other filter. it was in the video. I don’t know where that part went. I’m going to add it back. In the Spring. Thank you

Good videos Eddie, clear, well shot good advice and you don't repeat yourself like some KZfaqrs. Your advice on taking a pic of the belt is great - because it looks easy before you take it off, even if you try to take a mental image. Then you look at the manual and inevitably it's different because they don't have the Gen 2 filter or something else is different, and the belt goes completely in another path!

New serpentine belts aren't supposed to crack, they make a tool that looks like a tooth pick with a spot to hold it, it measures the depth of the grooves to see if the belt is worn out or not. Wish I could take a pic of the tool, but more than likely an autoparts store may have one to show you...

Thanks, Eddie! Your videos have been very helpful. One thing I'm struggling with is getting the tension correct on the serpentine belt. I'm not a mechanic but am fearful that I may have it too tight. I know in your video you said there should be about a 1/4 inch deflection. What I don't know is how much pressure to apply to the belt? I thought about getting the OTC 6673 gauge but those are insanely expensive it seems. All the forums I've been able to find say they just do it by feel. I don't have a feel for how to do it by feel. Are there symptoms of a belt that's too tight? Or one that is too loose? My boat only has a single 350 MAG so I don't have another engine to compare it too. I may just bite the bullet and pay for the stupid gauge. Thanks for any help!
@OnboardWithEddie

I don’t believe there is any specs on how tight it should be usually if you can push down with your thumb about a quarter of an inch that’s enough. I know that doesn’t help much. I know I’m just used to putting the serpentine belts on hope that helps.

Morning Eddie, I'm having a re occurring problem with , what appears to be a water pressure problem. I've had the raw water pump replaced as well as the pressure sensor in the rear of the engine. It seems that the problem occurs at around 3200 RPM ,any RPM below that there's no problem. Water temp and water pressure, at digital dash ,as well as Vessel view agree. The code that comes up on the dash is 25 and the engine goes into limp mode. Engine is a 2015 5.7 300 HP. Mercruiser. Any thoughts would be appreciated cheers, Larry

Thanks for you videos Eddie. Very informative and helpful. I have a new “to me” 2005 sea ray 290 amberjack with twin 5.0 mpi. I think it’s the same as your engines. Need to give it a tune up. With this filter do you have to do anything special to prime it after changing the filter or just start it right up? Thanks

I know this is an older video, but it doesn't show the changing of the other filter screen (part # 35-892665) in the bottom of the module. It should also be changed out when servicing the Cool Fuel Module.

@OnboardWithEddie

If you have water in your Fuel! You may think it’s you timing. I would change the fuel filter 1st and check for water in the firer. Then if you still have the problem check the time.

Hey Eddie - isn't there an additional filter that resides under the paper guy you changed out? I think it sort of looks like a flat plastic disc and is in the base of the canister. Do you know anything about it?
