You can also remove the top plate, with long bolts. Just tighten them down equally, working in a cross section pattern, until it is lifted up high enough to remove it. Many ways work, but you definitely have to be careful, with live magnets, lol. Especially when you are setting the top plate, back on.

Another way to remove top plate is by using longer screws than what normally mounts the basket and run them down into top plate a lil at a time gradually kinda like tightening lug nuts on a wheel. Itll walk itself away from the slugs.

Well, you don't always get the results that you want. We snapped bolts, broken ferrite, all kinds of trouble. I've done it by accident plenty of times.

Hell yes you are the subwoofer king , that actually shows people a trade. Im a concrete finisher nobody wanted to show me anything because i speak englsh and spabish thought i would take there job wish wasnt ny attention i wanted to learn the trade i finnaly picked it upa job were my work was decent .But a forman at my company told me to ask my super to put me on his crew And that he would show me on how to absoluley leave top notch work and not to kill myself . And he has my work is the best now And what im sayin is pat is that guy to show u to actually build subs and all the mad scientific stuff he does .For instance he wi pay u for work not in cash but in his store credit . I cab imagine me being a youngman having this guy show me nexlvl cars would have been nextlvl these subs are rebuilt but actually hit harder and last lomger and my favorite part is he allows to to upgrade my subs i turn my old subs in and they rebuild and resell them thats unheard of i get the next better sub at a discount now Robot Underground are old school that means you give it the best and you wiill be the best

5 out of 6 is fine. Just make sure you use a support for the motor in the enclosure.

I’d say most cases would be when you drop the motor or subwoofer as an whole. Most times it would be shipping companies that cause this.

I guess I've just been lucky. And careful. I've had subs in every vehicle for 26 years. And have had my own business in car audio for about 15 years and never once had this happen. I have always secured my boxes and my customers boxes and have never dropped a sub either. Hopefully it will stay that way but I probably done screwed myself now. It will probably happen first thing tomorrow morning now. Lol

i got a Auidio pipe motor which has metal flakes inside bunch of it lol hard to take it while its magnetized

Take some tape and roll it up into a tight tube with the sticky on the outside, you can work that around in the gap to pull bits of metal and other light debris out of it. Keep using fresh tape as it collects the crap you're trying to remove.

Does it always take some kind of trauma to the driver for this to happen? I haven't seen it before in person, but I've also never dropped a woofer.

No. Sometimes the glue fails from abuse / getting the coil too hot.
