19:31 I rather like having "Christmas" All year long. There really are so many things to be thankful for. I notice that a lot of people complain about the way others treat them. Almost everything that I have got in my life? Almost all of it was simply due to the fact that I went out of my way to treat them right. When I was learning to be a Low Voltage cable installer? The things I learned from pro's and people that I would not even THINK about being one? Made me the installer I (Was) today. Its amazing how far you can get when you just open yourself up to learning and caring about taking the initiative to learn and go the extra mile FOR THE RIGHT PEOPLE. I really have no need to an Extra Income. But boy do I wish I could Marry a Lawyer. Or a Paralegal/ Accountant. . 🙂

I have the TREO SSP 12.22. They look amazing and have some custom machined heatsinks(?) on them. I was curious what you thought about TREO. I got it BNIB for 250$ from a failing shop liquidation. I think retail it was 599. Crazy I think!

@@RobotUnderground I could teach myself that I build pc, fix phones, tablets etc. I want my dads knowledge because he’s master mechanic too I grew up handing him wrenches build race engines so I’d like to learn all the machinist tricks for engine parts. I mean obviously I’ve leaned a lot from him about building engines etc and can fix damn near anything you put in front of me but you know how it is when you have someone who’s got experience, tricks knowledge of so many different fields you try to absorb as much knowledge as you can from them. I just got lucky it’s my old man. He’s also master electrician, water purveyor, well driller, pump installer, heavy equipment operator, truck driver,hunting guide,and more … I also did most of those as well.

Is having the cooling holes in the pole the patent? Seems like a good idea but I feel if the holes were drilled in an upward direction diagonally instead of perpendicularly it would cool a lot more awesomely

It doesn't matter in that shit storm. Most subs are side fire / horizontal mount anyway. In that high velocity environment, gravity and heat waves don't matter all that much. They don't matter at all when someone is abusing their subwoofer.

You and i feal the same way about sound deadener, i knew a guy that had almost 400lbs of deadener in his trunk with an 8k and 2 12 in SD NSV 12s and a giant agm.. broke his trany is 2 months 4600 to fix it and his motor went 1 month after that. Was a lancer. He droped the audio game and got a GSX. People pay attention to the weight it matters.

So 400 lbs of deadner damaged his transmission and then his engine? Yeah ok! That's like driving your car with another 2 adults and a child. All cars are rated to carry a minimum of 5 adults (180lbs x5=900lbs) and about 400lbs of cargo. Atleast my 2008 Subaru Forester does. That's 1400lbs and your claiming a little deadner and 2 12" subwoofers are destroying his tranny and engine. Hahaha what a joke.

Your friend is full of shit. The payload capacity for that vehicle is well over 1000lbs. Imagine thinking a 4 door car/tranny can't handle 4 adults and groceries in the trunk. Yea ok bro.

hey do you know if earthquake sound is a good brand. have you worked on any of their subs. i have a blown magma sub, i contacted earthquake for a recone but they stopped making kits for the dual 3 ohm. they said my version was from the late 90s to early 00s. i saw an ad saying these were ranked no. 1 in car audio electronics mag back in 99 so im a bit curious to see how they sound. is it worth it to look for a recone or look for something else

All subs are the same. You don't need that exact coil to get the job done. Measure the gap dims and then look for the parts online.

Wouldn't another benefit of using more slugs be that its almost impossible to bottom out the coil?

For that part, yes but eventually the bottom of the coil where it attaches to the spider will bottom out on the top of the motor. Remember the chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. When you abuse that chain, you find the weak link very quick.

I found one in a car in a wrecking yard and ended up getting it for $10, I haven't tried it out yet but it doesn't smell burnt 🤷‍♂️ the thing is freaking gigantic and heavy as hell haha By the way, thanks for the reply and thank you for all of the knowledge your videos continue to provide man 🙏

How does that extended pole piece shape magnetic Flux in the gap? Is it even on both sides of the gap?

It doesn't. It's extended just for cooling. It does this by having it perforated as well as being extended and basically what it does is it adds a lot of surface area

@RobotUndergroun Sup brother. So basically a heat sink. What pole piece designs perform best under EXTREME conditions? More worried about sq and accuracy. I run flat rta tune to 1/12 octave flat then sg tuned be ear while maintaining a +1to-2db I like clean transients with maximum detail and realism. 10-40k. When a drummer bangs a snare or wacks his sticks together I want it to sound like it right there With a Soundstage and imaging to Match. I'm 2yrs into to tuning this thing. Still not done. Never will be! That's the black hole of hifi Audio I guess. Fuking Love it.

So when the y35 magnet gets hot it drops to a y30? So when the y30 gets hot does it drop to a y25?

No. Y30 is very stable but it does have what's called a Curie Point. I'll let you Google that. You can of course re-zap neo or y35 but most people don't have easy or cheap access to a magnetizer. I didn't finish my thought on this which is that Y35 has been in high demand now for the last 10 years that there's no price difference between Y30 and Y35. Most speaker companies don't even bother making or using lower grades unless specified by the designer. ( like in the case of IB woofers but you can easily lower the BL by just making the gap more sloppy like my mom instead of using lower grade ferrite.)
