Hi, Guys today i am going to show you how to make portable generator Engine REPAIR.This is a basic how to on troubleshooting the carburetor on a harbor freight or small generator engine.
You may have a problem if bad gas sits in the carburetor a long time or you have dirt in the gas.
Then you will need to take apart the carburetor and clean out the dirt. Portable generators.
Generator won't start, runs unevenly, or won't stay running? This video provides information on how a portable generator works and offers troubleshooting tips to assist you in diagnosing and repair.

Excellent video the indian guy below is asking for explanations like he would have done on thousands of other similar indian videos but i couldnt find any negative comments on such indian videos 1. A well detailed video 2. Lower the background music 3.Unlike indian videos which barely have any commentary get the edge here and speak in Urdu the indian guys will understand it as well as most of them speak urdu and youll get their views too 4. Dont get discouraged and continue to do so

Gostei muito, mas não consegui soltar o eixo do gerador. As pontas são cônicas e a pressão é muito forte, como o senhor conseguiu soltar os eixos depois de desaparafusados, na primeira vez? I liked it a lot, but I couldn't loosen the generator shaft. The tips are tapered and the pressure is very strong, how did you manage to loosen the axes after unscrewed the first time?

You have to pour petrol with oil for 1 liter petrol pour 50ml oil if your generator is two stroke.

great video. I have one on my bench right now. Its seizing during the pull to start it. Its not the pull rope that is locking up. Im getting ready to tear it down. Anyone have any ideas why this is happenimng? The tear down will not be a problem but I cant figure out why its happening. Im open to any thought you may have. Note. I had a coupon and a gift certificate and got the thing for like 12 bucks so its not the end of the world If it goes in the metal/scrapper pile in my barn lol. Im sure I have not used it 10 times. I would bet it doesnt have 4 hours total run time.

No I have Checked it It does not work bcz A dianamo needs high RPM and drill machine has not like taht RPM which Dianamo needs. Thank you for Watching!

Well electromagnetic induction is the answer. If you spin a magnet near a coil or a coil near a magnet you produce electricity and it's called electromagnetic induction. Now in today's generators they use electromagnet instead of a permanent magnet , electromagnet is stronger than a permanent magnet also you can control the output voltage and current and they just spin the electromagnet inside a coil and that's how they produce electricity . Electromagnet is basically a coil but when a current (electric obviously) flows in the coil then the coil acts just like a magnet and it's name is electromagnet. Hope i helped

I have medusa 950 compact which is same as this. The magneto and coil pack are seperate were as like honda or suzuki as all in one coil pack magneto. My problem is i have no spark and only getting around 5 - 6 volts from magneto when i pull start. that cant be enough voltage for a spark surely ?. Can anyone tell me what the voltage should be, i expected about 12volts plus.

I tried it last night and the motor hummed but wouldn't spin. would i need to hook up power to windings in a different way? Do you know what kind of windings/generator these use? was searching all night but couldn't figure it out.

This is not a Motor it's a Dynamo and has an armature.It provides voltages by spinning the armature at specific RPM. While motor has winding on it's stator and has a rotor.We provide voltages to spin the rotor. By the way there is no way hook up power to windings in a different way.But one way when you replace the armature with simple rotor probably it would become an Electric Motor after connecting the capacitor and wiring etc.

I didn't see how you removed the rotor from its taper on the crankshaft. I'm just stripping a Clarke / Briggs & Stratton 3.5 HP generator and I'm stuck at that stage. The rotor looks easily damaged so perhaps I should strip the engine and pull the crankshaft off the rotor rather than the other way round?

I removed the rotor from it's taper by simply hiting on the stator by mallet side by side and then it removed it self. Be careful while hiting on the stator you may damage stator's winding!

While servicing my portable generator, I mistakenly broke one of the two upper bolts that binds the engine block. I ended up binding the block with the remaining three. The following day, I turned it on and the packing in the engine block was torn. Please I want to know if the torn packing was as result of the missing screw. Please I await your urgent reply.

I have some remarks about yuor disassembly method: You used a sledge hammer and a large screwdriver as a lever to extract the magnetic flyewheel and the crank. It is almost a "capital sin" because you can damage the parts an deform the axle's tips. You must to use an extractor do perform these operations.

i have the same genset, i am having trouble to start it up i tried cleaning the carbs and adjusting air and gas jettings but to no avail. it is still wont start.... please give some advise Thank you!

I have the same problem, used start pilot and it runs irregulary until the start pilot is burned and then it cuts off. Checked the spark and ignition. Fuel inlet. and outlet. Everything seems allright
