New Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AEBT00101
The tensioner is a springed device that keeps the serpentine belt in your vehicle at the correct tension to keep it on the pulleys, without being so tight that it breaks. Eventually the tensioner may become worn, loose, or stuck, resulting in belts that squeak, slip, or fall off. This video shows you how to install a new TRQ tensioner pulley in your 2007-2012 Nissan Sentra.

Thank you so much for this video. It would be impossible to change the tensioner without moving the engine and your video showed exactly how to do that. One correction: the tensioner bolt is T-50 not T-45 (at least it is on my 2007 Nissan).

Thanks for the great instructional video! I've just repaired my 2008 t31 X trail, slightly different I had to raise my engine up about 50mm so I could get onto the torx bolt, I can confirm it is a T50 not a T45 on my engine although I used a T45 at first to get it out.

I have the same nissan car with the 2.0l I had to jack the engine up to do the exactly same thing. So the only thing I could come up with is you must have lifted the engine up alot to have it go down to go through same hole to Extract Bolt out of tensioner, video did help some thanks

Is it necessary to swap out the idler pulley for a new one too ? Or just replace the belt tensioner only? 2011 versa 1.8 hatchback

Excellent video man, I am experiencing this issue right now, however, is it necessary to gain access to change this part the way you did it? The reason I am asking is that the mechanic went in from behind the steering wheel. Just want to know the safest way to avoid any future issues. Thanks for your time and experience

Please make a video that shows the hole that you used to access the hex bolt. I have watched several videos of this procedure, and there is no hole in the fender well of any Versa hatchback. I am also well into replacing my a/c compressor, my belt and tensioner. There is no hole in my fender well for accessing the tensioner hex bolt. All I need to see is the hole, or did you drill a hole?

So first you snug the floor jack up against then engine oil pan, then you said "lower" engine after the engine mount is removed to align tensioner bolt with hole in frame, but then during reassembly you say to "lower" the engine again to reinstall engine mount, so something seems off if you reverse everything to reassembly. Did you actually "raise" the engine to align the tensioner bolt with the frame hole? Or at some other time?

I think they missed one raise. Between putting the pulley and putting the belt back. So at the point you need to lower or raise a little more to get it aligned.

So it's safe to raise your engine from the oil pan? Won't it get damaged?

I have a 2007 Sentra 2.0L. I followed the video exactly, but couldn’t figure out how to move the tensioner to get the belt off. I borrowed the serpentine belt removal tool from Auto Zone, but the 14mm claw wrench only adjusts by 90 degree increments, and when I am finally able to get it on the tensioner, it won’t move because the angle is bad and there’s too much stuff in the way. What tool do you use to get the belt off? The video says a 14mm wrench. How long is it? And where do you stick it in from?

Y’all lowered the engine to access the tensioner, then lowered it again to put the motor mount brackets back on. This means y’all jacked up the engine and didn’t include it in the video, otherwise the brackets wouldn’t have lined up

For those of you coming here solely to do a belt swap: take off your front right wheel, and with a 14mm wrench, pull the tensioner towards the back of the car. You can then rest the other end of the wrench on the nut on the pulley wheel below the tensioner when taking the old belt off
