Too much liquid gasket, 2-3mm max. It will glog your oil suction point if they detached inside the pan...

I was changing my oil ahead of a 400 mile round trip. Thought it might be a good idea. Went to replace the sump plug and it wouldn't seat correctly. Took it easy and tightened slowly, but, the thread housing fractured off. I have a fabia, '51 reg (119,000). So, I needed to replace the sump pan and I followed this video to the letter. Result was a vehicle that did the 400 mile round trip with no problems. I've had my car 14 years, and I'm quite attached to it. Thank you for a very informative video. The gasket seal you used is quality, but it takes 24 hours to cure, not a problem, because it should last. I've checked the oil repeatedly since I replaced the pan, and there are no leaks whatsoever. Again, thank you.

Do i need to change the low oil level sensor when replacing the sump?

Good video. I have a leak from the gearbox side of sump on my 130pd tdi and hoping its the sump leaking. If the seal in gearbox was leaking would it drip out on floor. Or is it all sealed around there and just leak into the sump. Just trying to eliminate other possibilities before i reseal the sump and hope it's that. Thanks

Did you need to replace the oil level sensor gasket seal or can you reuse it?

Did the exhaust have to come of this to clear the sump?

Can i use a original gasket or do i have to use liquid gasket?
