Thanks for the video. However I can’t remove the filter housing cover even when the 2 metal clips are opened. The cover just won’t slide to the right. Forcing it to move is risky as the plastic material of the housing and cover is quite easily damaged. I don’t know what to do next.

I'm pretty sure you installed it backwards? Look at airflow direction arrow at 1:33

I thought you were wrong....but I just removed mine and sure enough the arrows were pointing UP........he installed it arrows point down! TBH I didn't think it would install the wrong way round!.... it looked right in the video..... But yes , the foam sealing should be at the bottom....which is how he installed it.... but the arrows on mine definitely point AWAY From the foam. (Double checked; Air flow comes from the left and UP through the filter.) Conclusion: The arrows on his are wrong. But the installation IS correct....foam seal on the bottom. Beats me!

how often do you change the air filter? thanks loving your content about the mechanical side I know nothing but really want a van but want to at least know a couple basic things! I appreciate you making these!

It's only supposed to be done on this van every 20k miles. But depending on conditions that could need to be done sooner. E.g. if you drive in a ton of dusty dry areas, or if you're driving through wildfire smoke the filters will get clogged up quicker.

Funny thing is that Mercedes owner’s manual doesn’t say anything about the filter renewl except ”go to the dealer” and Haynes repair manual is equally silent of this matter! Whhaaaat? Changing air filters is basic stuff in every car!

😂 omg! I didn't realize the video showed so much nothing after the actual video. My bad! Will fix it when I'm on my laptop, I think KZfaq has a built in editor I can trim the video with
