The screw is actually a T20 torx bit in my 2014 Focus. A 7/64 hex will work but the T20 works better imo. Thanks for the video!

I'm trying to save $50 by doing this myself... But I'm totally confused. In the video it looks like this is a British car, because it's on the left side of the footwell but there's a door there - but it's not the driver's side because you have to open the panel under the glove box...?? Also would a t20 torx bit be in a typical tool box? Thanks 👍

They said left side of footwell, it's the PASSENGER side, or right side of a normal North American Ford. They should have said left side of passenger footwell. Whether a T20 driver is in a toolbox depends how "typical" the toolbox is. Sometimes Torx tools are L-shaped like hex keys (Allen wrenches.) The size 'T20' should be stamped or engraved on the tool. You can get a screwdriver-shaped T20 Torx which will make it easier to reach the screw. Search Amazon for ASIN B07GZMGVN4. It is $2.15 as of Oct 2018. Or try a local hardware store if you're in more of a hurry. It should be a fairly common tool. It looks daunting, but I've changed 3 filters (3 separate cars) like this now and it's not too bad.

Thanks for the video. I got a focus late last year. I was just getting my oil changed and the guy was struggling greatly to find the cabin air filter. Came home and watched this video and he was looking in the wrong spot... I'll continue changing these things myself going forward.

How tf are yall able to reach the screw that keeps the door in place?

The screw for the housing should be at the bottom and relatively easy to access. But sometimes the screw is located further up the housing, and in those cases, and extender for your screwdriver will likely be necessary.

At the :27 mark the installer points out that this is located under the glove box. You will have to get on your hands and knees to see this housing door. A flash light will help too.
